The latest data from the Brazilian Solar Photovoltaic Association shows that the country's installed solar power capacity has exceeded 55 gigawatts (GW), accounting for 22.2% of the national electricity structure, officially becoming the second largest source of energy after hydropower. Among them, the installed capacity of distributed photovoltaic systems is 37.6 GW, and the installed capacity of large-scale photovoltaic power stations is 17.6 GW, demonstrating the characteristics of national participation in energy transformation.

Since 2012, the Brazilian solar industry has attracted over 25.1 billion Brazilian reals in investment and created 1.6 million green jobs. In the first three months of 2025, 147000 new photovoltaic systems will be installed nationwide, providing power to 228700 households. At present, photovoltaic applications are widely used in more than 5500 cities in the country, with Minas Gerais leading the country with 900000 installations.

This industry has helped Brazil reduce 66.6 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions and contributed 78 billion Brazilian reals in tax revenue. The Brazilian Photovoltaic Association stated that with the increasing global demand for clean energy, the Brazilian solar industry will continue to lead the energy transition and strengthen its important position in the international green energy market.
