Yuxi City, Yunnan Province, Mosha Lantern Mountain Agriculture, Forestry and Photovoltaic Complementary Photovoltaic Project was officially connected to the grid for power generation. As the first orange-light complementary demonstration project in Yunnan Province, the project innovatively combines photovoltaic power generation with citrus planting, creating a new three-dimensional land use model of photovoltaic in irrigation areas.

The project is located in the Xinyuan Irrigation District of Yunnan Province under the "14th Five-Year Plan" Xingshui Rundian Project, making full use of the land resources of citrus orchards in the irrigation area, and realizing the coordinated development of "on-board power generation and off-board planting" through the scientific design of the installation height and spacing of photovoltaic panels. The total installed capacity of the project is 50 megawatts, and the annual power generation is expected to be about 212.76 million kilowatt hours, which can meet the annual electricity demand of about 60,000 local households.

In terms of ecological benefits, the project can save about 63,000 tons of standard coal, reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 110,000 tons, sulfur dioxide by 2,133 tons, and nitrogen oxides by 2,809 tons per year, making a positive contribution to regional carbon emission reduction. At the same time, the shading effect of photovoltaic panels can also effectively reduce water evaporation in orchards and improve the growing environment of citrus.

The project innovatively explores the integration model of "water conservancy, agriculture and energy": on the one hand, it relies on the water conservancy infrastructure of the Xingshui Rundian Project, and on the other hand, it realizes the efficient use of land resources through the organic combination of photovoltaic power generation and agricultural planting. This model not only improves the economic output per unit of land, but also creates a large number of local jobs and drives farmers to increase their incomes and become rich.

According to the person in charge of the project, the project can bring about 2 million yuan of land transfer income to local farmers every year, and create more than 100 jobs in operation and maintenance, agricultural employment and so on. Through the multiple income increase mechanism of "rent, salary and industrial income", it will effectively help the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy.

The successful grid connection of the project provides a replicable and generalizable demonstration model for Yunnan Province and even the whole country to explore the development path of agriculture and photovoltaic complementation.
