JinkoSolar has announced that it is to form a joint venture with a subsidiary of Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) and Vision Industries Company (VI) for the construction of a new factory in the Kingdom which will produce an annual 10GW of TOPCon solar cells and modules. At a total investment of some US$1 billion, the state-of-the-art facility aims to set new standards in digitalisation, efficiency and sustainability.

The factory, due for completion in 2026, will be located at Oxagon, NEON city and will be designed and constructed in alignment with JinkoSolar’s domestic smart factories, including robots, automated guided vehicle AVG and high-bay warehouse and camera-based monitoring systems. It will use 100 percent green energy sourced from local suppliers and rooftop solar panels.

Production of the world’s first 27% efficiency cells is scheduled to commence during the first half of 2026, with the site’s first TOPCon module to be produced during the second half of the year.

Jinko VP Dany Qian predicted that, in collaboration with PIF and VI, the site will attract and foster both local and international talent, with some 3,000 employees ultimately working at the new plant.

Qian elaborated further, explaining that the plant’s production facilities will be designed using digital methods and tools, enabling the detailed situation in workshops, production lines and related infrastructure to be viewed remotely, making it possible for the current state of production to be discussed in real-time with colleagues in China. In addition, maintenance, logistics and manufacturing processes will be interconnected via a single IT architecture.(This article is from the official website of Seetao.com, www.seetao.com.
