On April 8th, an important milestone was reached in the Capacity Expansion and Reconstruction Project of the Jiamusi-Tongjiang Railway, a key project in China's 14th Five-Year Plan for railway development. All the pile foundation concrete pouring of the Lingdangmai River Extra-large Bridge, the only newly-built double-track bridge in this project, was successfully completed, and the project officially entered the construction stage of pier body structures. This marks that the Jiamusi-Tongjiang Railway of the "Eastern Corridor" of the China-Europe Railway Express has fully entered a new stage of main structure construction.

The Capacity Expansion and Reconstruction Project of the Jiamusi-Tongjiang Railway is a trunk railway mainly for freight transport, also taking passenger transport into account. It starts from Dongjiamusi Station in Jiamusi City in the west and ends at Tongjiang North Station in the east, with a total length of 258.25 kilometers. Among them, the Lingdangmai River Extra-large Bridge, with a total length of 1,772.155 meters, is the only double-track extra-large bridge along the whole line, and its construction is of vital importance for improving the railway's transportation capacity.

This project is located in a cold region with a short effective construction period, which poses huge challenges to the project construction. To ensure the project is completed on schedule, the Construction Headquarters of the Capacity Expansion and Reconstruction Project of the Jiamusi-Tongjiang Railway has actively organized the participating construction units to optimize the construction plan, established special working groups to conduct comprehensive inspections of the construction site, strengthened the safety management of construction, and carried out professional training for the construction participants to ensure the project proceeds safely and orderly.

In terms of design, China Railway Fifth Survey and Design Institute has fully considered the characteristics of the extensive distribution of seasonal frozen soil in the construction area. The design scheme of "continuous rigid frame + simply supported T-beam" is adopted to cross the Lingdangmai River, a tributary of the Songhua River. This not only enhances the durability of the bridge structure but also improves its economic efficiency.

The Project Department of the Capacity Expansion and Reconstruction of the Jiamusi-Tongjiang Railway of China Railway First Group Co., Ltd., which is responsible for the construction, has achieved 24-hour uninterrupted operation by scientifically arranging the construction plan and introducing advanced equipment such as intelligent steel bar bending and hooping robots and numerically controlled automatic hooping machines. The construction efficiency has been increased by 10 times compared with manual operation, effectively ensuring the construction progress and accuracy.

At present, the construction of the station buildings and supporting facilities of the Capacity Expansion and Reconstruction Project of the Jiamusi-Tongjiang Railway is also advancing simultaneously. After the project is completed, it will significantly improve the travel conditions of the residents along the line, comprehensively enhance the transportation capacity of the rear passage of the Tongjiang Port, and provide strong support for China to accelerate the construction of a new highland for opening up to the north.  (This article is from the official website of Seetao.com, www.seetao.com.
