On the evening of April 15, 2025, President Xi Jinping of China arrived in Kuala Lumpur by a special plane at the invitation of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia Ibrahim. He is paying a state visit to Malaysia.
When the special plane arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed, the accompanying minister, and Minister of Transport Lu Zhaofu and other senior officials warmly greeted him. Malaysian children presented flowers to Xi Jinping, and Malaysian teenagers performed dances with local characteristics, waving the national flags of China and Malaysia to warmly welcome Xi Jinping's visit.
Xi Jinping delivered a written speech, on behalf of the Chinese government and the Chinese people, to extend sincere greetings and good wishes to the Malaysian government and the Malaysian people. Xi Jinping pointed out that China and Malaysia are friendly neighbors facing each other across the sea, and the traditional friendship has lasted for thousands of years. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations more than half a century ago, the two countries have adhered to mutual respect, equality, and win-win cooperation, setting a model for relations between countries. In 2023, the two sides reached an important consensus on jointly building a China-Malaysia community with a shared future. Last year, the two countries grandly celebrated the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. As important developing countries and members of the Global South, deepening high-level strategic cooperation between China and Malaysia is in the common interests of the two countries and is conducive to regional and even world peace, stability, and prosperity. I look forward to taking this visit as an opportunity to further deepen the traditional friendship between the two countries, enhance mutual political trust, promote cooperation in modernization construction, jointly promote exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations, and promote the continuous progress of the building of a China-Malaysia community with a shared future, and open a new "Golden 50 Years" for China-Malaysia relations. Cai Qi, Wang Yi, Wang Xiaohong and other accompanying personnel arrived on the same plane. Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia Ouyang Yujing also went to the airport to welcome him. On the way from the airport to the hotel where he was staying, local Chinese-funded enterprise personnel and overseas students waved the national flags of China and Malaysia on both sides of the road, held up red banners such as "Warmly Welcome President Xi Jinping to Visit Malaysia" and "Long Live China-Malaysia Friendship", and overseas Chinese performed a festive and lively lion dance to welcome Xi Jinping's visit.(This article is from the official website of Seetao at www.seetao.com.
