On April 17, with the completion of the last steel beam weld, the control project of Chaoma Railway - Ma'anshan Yangtze River Railway Bridge realized the full bridge closure. This "super project" across the Yangtze River has refreshed the technical height of bridge construction with a number of world bests, injecting strong momentum into the transportation integration of the Yangtze River Delta.

The Ma'anshan Yangtze River Highway and Railway Bridge is located about 2.3 kilometers upstream of the existing Changhe Expressway Ma'anshan Yangtze River Highway Bridge, with a total length of 9.8 kilometers, like a steel dragon connecting Ma'anshan City and County with Dangtu County. The bridge adopts the road-rail joint construction mode, and the upper level is a two-way six-lane urban expressway with a design speed of 80 kilometers per hour; The lower layer carries the four-line railway, of which the Chaoma intercity railway has a design speed of 250 kilometers per hour, and reserves the development space of the double line with a speed of 200 kilometers per hour. What is particularly striking is that the main navigation bridge of the Yangtze River Zuoyang adopts a three-tower steel truss cable-stayed structure with a main span (2×1120) meters, becoming the world's first single-span three-tower cable-stayed bridge with a span of more than one kilometer, and it is also the world's longest steel truss cable-stayed bridge. Its three main towers stand majestically, the north main tower (Tower 3) is 308 meters high, the middle main tower (Pier 4) is 345.6 meters high, and the south main tower (Tower 5 is 306 meters), forming a magnificent landmark on the Yangtze River.

In the construction process, the engineering team innovatively adopted the erection scheme of "first side span and then main span", after the side span steel beam was pushed into place, the north and south towers were erected to the middle span single cantilever erection, and the middle tower synchronously implemented double cantilever operation, and finally realized the millimeter-level accurate docking of the two closures. It is worth mentioning that the breakthrough application of 2100Mpa high-strength weathering steel strand cable-stayed cable, the highest strength material application in the history of bridges in the world, marks a new milestone in China's bridge construction technology.

As the first intercity railway project jointly built by provinces and cities in Anhui Province, Chaoma Intercity Railway is a key node of the national "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed rail network along the river. With a total length of 73.2 kilometers and a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour, the line connects the Shanghe-Hangzhou high-speed railway in the north and the intercity along the river in southern Jiangsu in the east, which not only opens up the fast passage between Ma'anshan and the provincial capital Hefei, but also builds a new high-speed rail artery for Anhui to integrate into the Yangtze River Delta. There are 5 stations on the whole line: Chaohu East, Hanshan, Zhengpugang, Ma'anshan South, and Ma'anshan East, which are expected to be completed and opened to traffic in 2026.
