On May 11, local time, the largest photovoltaic project in the Middle East, which was contracted by China Energy Construction, officially obtained the initial commercial operation certificate issued by the owner, achieving 2.6GW of full-capacity commercial operation.

The project is located approximately 80 km south of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, covering an area of approximately 53 square kilometres, and consists of two sub-projects, ASB1 (600 MW) and ASB2 (2,000 MW). The project adopts the world's most advanced N-type bifacial photovoltaic modules and flat single-axis automatic tracking brackets, which can accurately and maximally absorb the energy of sunlight, realize unmanned operation, and effectively drive Chinese equipment and Chinese technology to "go to sea".

Since the start of the project, the executive team has always adhered to high standards and strict requirements, maintained friendly and trusting cooperative relations with the owner and all participants, integrated the superior resources of all parties, and solidly promoted the smooth performance of the project. After the commercial operation of the project, all indicators met the requirements of the contract, and the handover time was 4 months earlier than the main contract, demonstrating the efficient performance ability of China Energy Construction.

After full operation, the total power generation capacity of the project in the next 35 years will be about 282.2 billion kWh, and the carbon dioxide emission reduction will be nearly 245 million tons, which is equivalent to planting 545 million trees in the desert, which is of great significance to Saudi Arabia's energy transition and sustainable development.(This article is from the official website of Seetao www.seetao.com.
