Recently, Arctech and China Power Engineering Consulting Group Northwest Electric Power Design Institute Co., Ltd. (CEEC Northwest Institute) officially signed a cooperation agreement for a 1GW photovoltaic project in Azerbaijan. Wang Jinjun, member of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager of Northwest Institute of China Electric Power Engineering Co., Ltd., Cai Hao, Chairman of Zhongxinbo, and other high-level officials from both sides witnessed the signing of the contract, marking an important step forward in the cooperation of Chinese enterprises in the field of renewable energy in Central Asia.

The contracted project includes two photovoltaic power stations, Bilyasuwar and Banka, with the Bilyasuwar project being the largest under construction photovoltaic project in Azerbaijan. The two projects will adopt the Zhongxin Bo Tianji II tracking system to customize innovative solutions for extreme environments such as floods and strong winds in coastal areas, ensuring high stability and profitability of the power station. After the completion of the project, the average annual power generation will be about 1.53 billion kWh, and the annual reduction of carbon dioxide emissions will be 1.15 million tons, significantly improving the local clean energy supply and helping Azerbaijan achieve its goal of green energy transformation.

Wang Jinjun, deputy general manager of the Northwest Institute of China Power Engineering, said that the project is a milestone for Chinese enterprises to deeply participate in the energy transformation in Central Asia. Both sides will make contributions to the high-quality construction of the "the Belt and Road" with the support of the technology and delivery capabilities of CITIC Expo. Cai Hao, Chairman of CITIC Bo, emphasized that the company will rely on the advantages of tracking system technology, work together with partners to expand overseas markets, and use a localized service system (with a 360 ° full cycle operation and maintenance team established in Central Asia) to ensure the full life cycle operation of projects and promote the low-carbon transformation of the global energy structure.

As an important partner of the "the Belt and Road" initiative, Azerbaijan's Renewable Energy Development Strategy has defined the goal of 6GW of photovoltaic installed capacity by 2030. CITIC Bo has previously participated in the construction of the country's first large-scale photovoltaic power station (grid connected in 2023, with an average annual power supply of 500 million kilowatt hours). This time, it won another 1GW order, further consolidating its leading position in the Central Asian market. In the future, Zhongxinbo will continue to empower the global green energy transformation with technological innovation and global service capabilities, and jointly draw a blueprint for sustainable development.
