On June 16, 2025, Quanzhou Rail Transit Group Co., Ltd. officially released the bidding announcement for the construction drawing review of the R1 line (Quanzhou section) of the Quanzhou Xiamen Zhangzhou intercity railway, marking the substantial progress stage of the project and attracting high attention from all walks of life.
As an important transportation infrastructure in the southern Fujian region, the total investment of R1 line is 67.983 billion yuan, with a total length of 175.04 kilometers, starting from Quanzhou East Station in the north and ending at Jintang Station in the south. Among them, the Quanzhou section of the line has a total length of 71.55 kilometers, passing through Quanzhou Taiwan Business Investment Zone, Fengze District, Jinjiang City, Nan'an City, and finally reaching the junction of Quanxia and Weitouwan. There are a total of 13 stations along the entire line (6 elevated stations and 7 underground stations), with 2 reserved stations, and supporting facilities including Quanzhou East Rolling Stock Depot, Shijing Parking Lot, Quanzhou Emergency Command Center, and two main substations in Tonggang West and Shuitou.
