On July 24, 2025, Rezlov Energy, supported by Actis Investment Group in the UK, announced the successful acquisition of 331 million euros (approximately 385 million US dollars) in project financing to advance the construction of the VIFOR wind farm phase II project in Buzeu County, Romania. The second phase of the project will add 269 megawatts of installed capacity, and after completion, the total installed capacity will reach 461 megawatts, which is expected to meet the clean electricity needs of 700000 households.
This financing is jointly participated by multiple international financial institutions such as Austria's First Savings Bank Group and Italy's UniCredit Bank Group, while also receiving support from international organizations such as the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the International Finance Corporation under the World Bank Group. Alastair Hammond, CEO of Rezlov Energy, stated that this financing will ensure the smooth implementation of the second phase of the project and comprehensively enhance clean energy production capacity.
At present, the first phase of the VIFOR wind farm project is under intense construction and is planned to be put into commercial operation in the spring of 2026. At that time, 30 wind turbines with a single capacity of 6.4 megawatts will be installed. The second phase of the project will add 42 wind turbines of the same model, and is expected to achieve grid connected power generation in the fourth quarter of 2027. After the project is fully operational, the VIFOR wind farm will become the largest wind power project in Romania since 2015.

Jaroslav Korpanec, Head of Energy Infrastructure for Central and Eastern Europe at Actis Investment Group, emphasized that the VIFOR project is an important project for Rezlov Energy in its European clean energy strategy layout. This project strictly adheres to the environmental and social sustainability standards of the International Finance Corporation and complies with the requirements of the Equator Principles. In July 2024, Rezlov Energy signed a ten-year power purchase agreement with the Romanian company Bekaert, committing to purchase 100 gigawatt hours of renewable energy electricity annually.
The smooth progress of this project will not only significantly increase the proportion of renewable energy generation in Romania, but also provide a demonstration case for energy transformation in Southeast Europe. With the accelerated transformation of Europe's energy structure, such large-scale wind power projects will play an important role in ensuring energy security and promoting low-carbon development.
