In July 2025, the East China Electric Power Design Institute of China Energy Construction Group Co., Ltd., an international company and Hunan Thermal Power, formed a consortium to officially sign a preliminary work agreement with Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar) in the United Arab Emirates, Oman Ibri Phase III 700MWp photovoltaic + 150MWh energy storage power station project, marking the imminent launch of this major new energy project.

The project is located in Ibri City, northwest Oman, and plans to build a ground photovoltaic power plant with an installed capacity of 700 MW on the DC side and a 150MWh energy storage system (reserve 50MWh expansion space). The scope of the project covers the construction of photovoltaic plants, energy storage systems, 400kV booster stations, high-voltage buried cables and supporting roads.

As an important achievement of China Energy Construction's "135" strategic layout, the project demonstrates the competitive advantage of East China Institute in the Middle East new energy market. After the completion of the project, it will significantly improve the utilization of renewable energy in Oman and inject new impetus into the transformation of the local energy structure.

China Energy Construction East China Institute said that it will give full play to its professional advantages in the field of new energy and work closely with all parties to ensure the high-quality implementation of the project. At the same time, this project will be used as an opportunity to further deepen the layout of the Middle East market and make greater contributions to the global business expansion of China Energy Construction. This signing marks another important breakthrough for Chinese new energy enterprises in countries along the Belt and Road.(This article is from the official website of Jiandao www.seetao.com may not be reproduced without permission, otherwise it will be investigated, please indicate the reprint of Jiandao Network + original link) See the photovoltaic column editor/Gao Xue
