On July 29, 2025, China Steel Equipment Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sinosteel International Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Sinosteel International"), and ArcelorMittal Jubail Pipe Company (AMTPJ) officially signed an EPC general contracting contract for the seamless steel pipe heat treatment and finishing line project. This is another important breakthrough made by Sinosteel International in countries along the "Belt and Road", marking the continuous recognition of China's metallurgical engineering technology in the field of high-end manufacturing in the Middle East.

The project is located in Jubail, an industrial town in eastern Saudi Arabia, and is owned by AMTPJ, a joint venture between global steel giant ArcelorMittal Group and Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund PIF, which is the largest and technologically leading seamless steel pipe manufacturer in the Middle East. According to the contract, Sinosteel Equipment will undertake the construction of a seamless steel pipe heat treatment line with an annual production capacity of 200,000 tons (diameter 114.3~406.4mm) and a finishing line with an annual production capacity of 150,000 tons (diameter 114.3~355.6mm), which will mainly serve strategic industries such as oil and gas exploitation, marine engineering, and shipbuilding in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East and North Africa.

This cooperation is the second time that Sinosteel Equipment and AMTPJ have joined hands. Previously, Sinosteel Equipment had successfully delivered the AMTPJ cold bed project, winning the trust of the owner with its professional technical strength and efficient engineering management. The new project adopts the EPC general contracting model, and Sinosteel Equipment will give full play to its rich experience in the field of steel pipe production lines to provide owners with full-process services from design, equipment supply to construction and installation.

Industry experts pointed out that after the completion of the project, it will significantly improve the supply capacity of Saudi Arabia's local high-end steel pipe products and reduce the dependence on imported products in the energy infrastructure field in the Middle East.
