Turkey's Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Enver Öskult, recently announced that the transportation time of China-Europe trains from China to Turkey through the "Middle Corridor" has been successfully shortened to 15 days, which is a significant improvement compared with the previous 20 days of transportation cycle. This breakthrough marks an important progress in the construction of the China-Europe land transport corridor.
At the departure ceremony in Istanbul, two China-Europe trains from China departed for Lodz, Poland and Budapest, Hungary. One of the trains from Chengdu carried 508 tons of goods, leaving Alashankou in Xinjiang, passing through the Trans-Caspian International Transport Corridor, and finally arriving in the eastern Turkish city of Kars, taking only 15 days.

Erskult said that this timeliness improvement is the result of the joint efforts of China, Turkey and Europe, and is an important milestone in the construction of regional connectivity. He revealed that the future goal is to further reduce the transportation time from Alashankou to Kars to 10 days.
As an important multimodal transport channel connecting Asia and Europe, the "Middle Corridor" has been continuously developed and improved since the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation between China and Turkey in 2015. The corridor starts in China and extends through Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia to Turkey and European countries. In recent years, with the improvement of customs clearance efficiency and the optimization of coordination mechanisms along the route, the transportation efficiency of this international logistics channel has continued to improve.
Analysts pointed out that the shortening of transportation time will significantly enhance the competitiveness of China-Europe trains, provide more efficient and convenient logistics options for economic and trade exchanges between countries along the route, and further promote the in-depth connection between the Belt and Road Initiative and the "Intermediate Corridor" plan.(This article is from the official website of Jiandao www.seetao.com it must not be reprinted without permission, otherwise it will be investigated, please indicate the reprint of Jiandao Network + original link) See the editor of the China-Europe train column of Jiandao Network/Gao Xue
