Recently, the eastern region of Mongolia has ushered in an important moment in the field of energy construction. Three wind and solar energy storage base projects, namely the Keshiketeng Banner 1 million kilowatt wind and solar energy storage base project, the Balinzuoqi 1 million kilowatt wind and solar energy storage base project, and the Inner Mongolia Energy Arhorqin 1 million kilowatt wind and solar energy storage base project, have started construction simultaneously, injecting new impetus into regional energy development.

These three projects are of great significance, as they all belong to the third batch of large-scale wind power base construction projects in Inner Mongolia that ensure grid connection. In terms of construction content, two 500 kV substations will be renovated and expanded to provide stronger hub support for power transmission; Constructing 110.3 kilometers of 500 kV transmission lines is like building a smooth and unobstructed highway for electricity; 268 power grid towers were erected to firmly support the transmission lines. This series of measures aims to systematically enhance the new energy access capability in the eastern region of Mongolia, enabling more clean energy to be smoothly integrated into the power grid and laying the foundation for optimizing the regional energy structure. To ensure the smooth commencement of these three projects, State Grid Mengdong Electric Power Company has established an inspection team to strictly review the special construction plans, ensuring that every step meets safety regulations and engineering requirements. At the same time, personnel safety admission exams and skill training will be completed to further enhance the safety awareness and risk prevention and control capabilities of project participants through professional training and assessment. Only when every participant possesses solid safety knowledge and skills can the safety management of the construction site be ensured to be foolproof, providing solid guarantees for the smooth progress of the project.

According to the plan, these three projects will be put into operation on November 30, 2025. After the project is put into operation, it will bring significant economic and environmental benefits. The annual output value is about 2.4 billion yuan, adding new growth points to the regional economic development. Every year, 8.67 billion kilowatt hours of clean electricity will be transmitted, which is equivalent to saving 2.6295 million tons of standard coal and reducing 11.22 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions. This huge electricity output has a positive effect on alleviating energy shortages and reducing environmental pollution.
In addition, after the project is put into operation, it will also generate a series of positive social impacts. Further enhance the cross regional power mutual assistance capability, achieve optimized allocation of power resources, and enable clean energy to play a greater role on a larger scale. Drive the agglomeration of clean energy industry, attract more related enterprises to settle in, form a complete industrial chain, and promote industrial upgrading and development. Assist Inner Mongolia in building a high-quality national important energy and strategic resource base, promote Inner Mongolia to reach new heights in the energy field, and contribute to national energy security and sustainable development.
