China Construction Steel Structure Co., Ltd. recently officially entered the Moroccan market and successfully obtained multiple major infrastructure construction projects, covering areas such as railways, ports, and industrial parks, with a total contract value of 2.6 billion US dollars. This progress marks the further expansion of the North African market by Chinese enterprises and deepens the cooperation between China and Morocco in the fields of economy and infrastructure.
Among them, the Kenitra to Marrakesh high-speed railway project has a total length of about 430 kilometers and a designed speed of 320 kilometers per hour. After completion, it will become the fastest high-speed railway in Africa. China Construction Steel Structure is responsible for supplying 12600 tons of steel structures, mainly used for bridge and elevated section construction. Another highway upgrade project involves 15600 tons of steel structures, aimed at enhancing regional transportation and logistics capabilities and helping Morocco prepare for the 2030 World Cup.

These projects are jointly promoted by the Moroccan National Highway Administration and the National Railway Administration, and are expected to significantly shorten urban travel time and strengthen trade connectivity with Europe and Africa. At the same time, China Railway Construction Corporation also participated in high-speed rail construction, supplying 60000 tons of steel rails that meet European standards, achieving the first export of Chinese high-speed rail rails to Africa. All steel rails are scheduled to be delivered in 2026 to support the high-speed railway's operation by the end of 2029.
In recent years, Morocco has become a key investment target for Chinese enterprises due to its advantageous geographical location, multiple free trade agreements, and phosphate resources. Since 2025, China's investment in areas such as electric vehicle batteries and renewable energy has continued to grow. China Construction Steel Structure has previously completed landmark projects in multiple countries such as Saudi Arabia and Egypt. This entry into the Moroccan market further demonstrates China's international competitiveness in infrastructure technology and high-end manufacturing, and lays a solid foundation for deep cooperation between Chinese enterprises and North Africa.
