Recently, the Saudi REPDO4-AHK photovoltaic project, which is under the general contracting of China Electric Power Construction Group Co., Ltd., has officially achieved full capacity grid connected power generation. This project is an important cooperation result of the docking between Saudi Arabia's "Vision 2030" and China's "the Belt and Road" initiative. It is located in the desert area in the western part of Medina, the holy city of Saudi Arabia, with a total installed capacity of 1100 megawatts. It is one of the most representative new energy projects at the gigawatt level in the Middle East.

The project is expected to generate an average of 3.1 billion kilowatt hours of electricity per year, which can meet the electricity needs of 750000 local households, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 3.1 million tons and sulfur dioxide emissions by 93000 tons per year, significantly helping Saudi Arabia to promote energy structure optimization and low-carbon economic and social transformation.

During the construction process, the China Electric Power Construction project team successfully overcame challenges such as desert high temperatures, cross-cultural collaboration, and cross-border resource integration, innovatively building an efficient collaborative management system. Not only did they achieve high-quality construction, but they also set a record for the fastest construction of similar photovoltaic projects in Saudi Arabia at the "Chinese speed", demonstrating the system integration strength and excellent performance ability of Chinese enterprises in the field of international new energy engineering. After the project is connected to the grid, it will significantly increase the proportion of renewable energy in Saudi Arabia, providing a replicable and promotable example of green cooperation for energy transformation in the Middle East region.
