In the critical period of the global response to climate change and the promotion of energy transformation, Xin Baoan, Chairman of the Global Energy Internet Development Cooperation Organization and Chairman of the China Electricity Council, recently delivered a keynote speech entitled "Building New Quality Productivity of Energy and Power to Lead Global Green and Low Carbon Development", systematically summarized the important achievements of the Global Energy Internet Initiative in the past decade, and clearly proposed five key actions to indicate the implementation path for the next stage of global green and low carbon development.

Xin Baoan pointed out that since the Global Energy Internet Initiative was put forward ten years ago, the cooperative organization has always adhered to its original intention, took green and low-carbon as the banner, and with the support of the United Nations, multinational governments and enterprise institutions, successfully promoted the initiative from concept to reality, and achieved many breakthroughs. At present, this initiative has been included in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development of the United Nations, the Paris Agreement, multilateral cooperation mechanisms such as the "the Belt and Road", China Arab cooperation, China Africa cooperation, and the Ministerial Conference on Clean Energy. It has been included in the United Nations sustainable development policy recommendations for six consecutive years, and has received positive responses from more than 100 countries and international organizations.

The membership scale has expanded from an initial 80 to 1390, covering 143 countries. The cooperative organization has signed cooperation agreements with more than 60 government departments and international organizations, providing capacity building training for tens of thousands of people in over 100 countries. At the same time, the organization has released more than 100 forward-looking research results, led the development of international standards, and promoted the implementation of a number of energy Internet demonstration projects in Southeast Asia, Africa, Central and South America and other regions, to provide thought leadership and practical solutions for global energy reform with systematic innovation.

In order to further accelerate the construction of global energy Internet, Xin Baoan proposed five key actions:

Firstly, promote reliable substitution of clean energy. Promote the large-scale and efficient development of various clean energy sources, enhance the economic and reliability of power generation, and achieve comprehensive substitution of fossil fuels from increment to stock, from electricity quantity to capacity.

Secondly, accelerate the process of new electrification. In the fields of industry, construction, transportation, agriculture, and residential life, we will promote the deep substitution of fossil fuels with green electricity and hydrogen production from electricity, and build a new energy consumption system centered on electricity, green, low-carbon, efficient, and flexible.

Thirdly, strengthen the interconnection of energy and electricity. Promote cross-border and transcontinental interconnection of power grids, accelerate digital and intelligent transformation, utilize differences in resources, time zones, seasons, and electricity prices, and achieve efficient and optimized allocation of clean energy across a wide area.

Fourth, promote innovation in the technology industry. Focusing on key areas such as new energy, new energy storage, smart grid, and source grid load storage collaboration, we aim to connect the innovation chain, cultivate emerging industries, and promote the integration of the global clean energy industry chain, innovation chain, and value chain.

Fifth, deepen international cooperation in energy and electricity. Strengthen international policy coordination, promote energy trade and capacity cooperation, build a fair and inclusive global energy governance system, ensure that the fruits of transformation benefit all countries, and achieve sustainable energy for all.

The global energy Internet is not only a technical project, but also a global public product related to the sustainable development of all mankind.
