Recently, the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of warehouse facilities for the Nordseecluster project was held at the Port of Emsworth, providing solid support for the operation and maintenance of the Nordic cluster.

Nordseecluster is a joint offshore wind power project between RWE and Norwegian Bank Investment Management. The newly built warehouse facility covers an area of approximately 1700 square meters and is located in Beatrixhaven, Clarkson Port Services. The facility is expected to be completed by the end of the first quarter of 2026, and RWE will lease it for the long term.

As the largest wind power project currently under construction on the German coast, Nordseecluster A and B have a planned capacity of up to 1.6 gigawatts, with a grand scale and broad prospects. At the groundbreaking ceremony, representatives from Eemshaven Port Authority, construction company Bouwgreen Noord, civil technology consulting and management company InvraPlus, RWE, and Clarkson Port Services gathered together to break ground for the project and officially launch the construction work. It is estimated that the entire construction process will take approximately seven months.

Starting from mid-2026, a service operation vessel and a crew transfer vessel will depart from the base to undertake the important task of transporting workers to offshore wind turbines, providing strong support for the subsequent operation of the project.

And the significance of this newly built base goes far beyond that, it aims to provide comprehensive support for the long-term operation and maintenance of the Nordic A and B clusters. According to the plan, the Nordseecluster project is expected to be fully operational by 2029. At that time, this project will make important contributions to the clean energy supply in the Nordic region and even the world with its large scale and advanced technology, promote the optimization and upgrading of the energy structure, and help achieve the goal of sustainable development. With the successful completion of the groundbreaking ceremony, the Nordseecluster project is steadily moving towards a new stage of development, and let us look forward to it shining brightly in the future.Editor/Cheng Liting
