Recently, Chinese companies have reached an important agreement with Iran to supply 7GW of photovoltaic modules to Iran, with procurement funds provided by Iran's sovereign wealth fund (NDFI), and delivery until the end of March 2026. This cooperation is part of an important economic contract signed by China and Iran earlier this year, adding new color to the energy cooperation between the two countries.

For a long time, Iran has been plagued by power shortages and power outages, and the power grid is under immense pressure during peak summer electricity consumption. The photovoltaic modules supplied by China this time will effectively alleviate Iran's power shortage. As the core component of solar power generation, the large-scale introduction of photovoltaic modules will help Iran enhance its clean energy generation capacity, reduce dependence on traditional energy, and optimize its energy structure.

In fact, the cooperation between China and Iran in the field of energy has already had a solid foundation. Previously, both companies have closely cooperated in various related technical fields such as smart grid technology, air insulated switchgear, and energy storage systems. These collaborations not only enhance the intelligence and stability of Iran's energy system, but also lay a solid technological and trust foundation for this large-scale photovoltaic module supply cooperation.

Faced with the continuous growth of household and industrial electricity demand, Iran has actively planned and launched a large-scale expansion plan in the field of renewable energy. The National Development and Investment Fund of Iran has been approved to invest nearly 4 billion US dollars in renewable energy projects for the construction of an 8GW renewable energy power plant; At the same time, a special allocation of 1.5 billion US dollars was made to expand the construction of domestic photovoltaic projects. This series of measures demonstrates Iran's firm determination to develop renewable energy and achieve energy transition. Keywords: Photovoltaic New Energy, Photovoltaic New Energy News

The Iranian Ministry of Energy is full of confidence in the future and expects the country's renewable energy installed capacity to grow 25 times in the next three years, reaching nearly 30GW. The supply of photovoltaic modules by Chinese companies is undoubtedly an important support for achieving this ambitious goal. Through this cooperation, Chinese companies can not only further expand their overseas markets and enhance their international influence, but also contribute to Iran's sustainable energy development and improvement of people's livelihoods.Editor/Cheng Liting
