The groundbreaking ceremony of the 1 million kilowatt wind power project of Ningxia Huadian Haiyuan, which replaces small with large, was grandly held in Caowa Township, Haiyuan County, Zhongwei City, marking the full entry of the project into the construction phase and injecting strong impetus into the local energy transformation and green development.

The total investment of this project is 4.9 billion yuan, innovatively adopting the "replacing small with large" model, which is divided into a 300000 kW equal capacity project and a 700000 kW capacity expansion project. Through this mode, the original 198 old units with a total installed capacity of 300000 kilowatts will be replaced by 153 large capacity and high-efficiency wind turbines with a total installed capacity of 1 million kilowatts. This not only effectively improves the utilization efficiency of wind energy resources, but also successfully promotes and applies the innovative development model of "replacing small with large", setting a new benchmark for the industry.

In the 300000 kilowatt wind power project, the demolition work is progressing in an orderly manner, and the 198 1.5-megawatt wind turbines of the original wind power project will be dismantled one by one. Subsequently, 41 high-capacity wind turbines will make their debut and be connected to the original 110kV booster station. These new units, with larger single unit capacity and higher power generation efficiency, will generate more clean electricity under the same wind resource conditions, providing strong support for local energy supply.

The capacity expansion of 700000 kilowatts of wind power project is also highly anticipated. The project will construct 112 6.25-megawatt wind turbines, which are like giant green energy giants standing on the vast land, continuously capturing wind energy and converting it into electricity. At the same time, to ensure stable output and efficient transmission of electrical energy, the project will simultaneously construct three 110 kV booster stations and one 330 kV booster station, which will ultimately be connected to the 750 kV substation in Liupanshan, Guyuan City.
