Recently, under the joint witness of Luo Qianyi, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Dongfang Electric Group, and Yusuf Ali, CEO of Etihad Hydro in the United Arab Emirates, Chen Qiang, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Dongfang International, and Mohammed Sheikh, CEO of the United Arab Emirates Public Utility Development Company, officially signed the EPC general contract for the BESS1 battery energy storage project in the United Arab Emirates at the Ministry of Energy.
The successful signing of this contract marks the official entry of Oriental International into the UAE market, adding the latest achievements to the company's "green transformation, efficiency priority" business policy.
It is reported that the project is located in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. It is the largest grid side energy storage project publicly tendered by the UAE, the first project to be implemented after the establishment of the UAE Public Utility Development Company, and also the largest energy storage project of Dongfang Electric Group overseas. The EPC scope of the project covers the construction of two energy storage sites, Al Bihouth and Madinat Zayed, as well as supporting booster stations, with a total capacity of nearly 1 gigawatt hour.
As the first grid side energy storage project in the United Arab Emirates, its completion will become an important means for Abu Dhabi to enhance its power system regulation capabilities, support power supply guarantees, and promote large-scale consumption of new energy, while also ensuring the stable operation of the local new power system.
Oriental International stated that the company will rely on its experience in overseas new energy project construction, leverage the advantages of integrating the upstream and downstream of the new energy industry chain, and build the project into a leading local new energy project, providing Oriental wisdom and solutions for the UAE to address climate change and challenges.Editor/Bian Wenjun
