On April 28, 2026, the Zhenglanqi 500000 kW/2 million kWh independent new energy storage power station project officially broke ground in Bayan Gaolegacha, Shangdu Town. As a key project of Xilingol League in 2026 and a key link in the construction of a new power system in Zhenglan Banner, this project was invested 2 billion yuan by Zhenglan Banner Hengneng New Energy Co., Ltd. It aims to achieve rapid implementation through the joint review and approval mechanism of local enterprises, laying a solid foundation for the deployment of the "1571" work in the autonomous region and the goal of Zhenglan Banner to build a "10 million kilowatt level wind solar thermal energy storage base".

Super power bank landing

This project adopts lithium iron phosphate electrochemical energy storage technology, with a total installed capacity of 500000 kilowatts and an energy storage capacity of up to 2 million kilowatt hours. It is a large-scale independent shared energy storage power station that integrates peak shaving, frequency regulation, emergency backup, capacity leasing, and black start support functions. As the core support for the construction of a 10 million kilowatt energy base during the 15th Five Year Plan period of Zhenglan Banner, its scale and technological configuration are at the forefront of the industry. It can not only effectively stabilize the fluctuations of new energy, but also serve as a stabilizer for the power grid, deeply participating in the operation and regulation of the regional power system.

Joint efforts of local enterprises to tackle challenges

To ensure the rapid implementation of the project, Zhenglanqi leveraged the advantages of the joint review and approval mechanism for major projects, and closely cooperated with local enterprises to optimize processes and shorten the time limit for handling procedures, achieving rapid project initiation. Liu Jingde, Chairman of Hengneng New Energy Company, promised to scientifically schedule and reverse the construction period to ensure the efficient progress of the project. The project is scheduled to be connected to the grid on September 30, 2026, with an estimated annual discharge of 536 million kilowatt hours. It can save about 36000 tons of standard coal, reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 95000 tons, and create an annual tax revenue of about 40 million yuan for the local area.

With the construction of this giant power bank, the construction of Zhenglanqi's new power system has taken substantial steps.
