Its design has a maximum speed of 80 kilometers per hour and is contracted by China National Machinery Industry Corporation, a subsidiary of China General Technology Group International Co., Ltd. The project will significantly improve transportation connections in the northern part of Dhaka and its industrial areas, alleviate congestion, and benefit approximately 40 million people in Dhaka and its surrounding 30 districts. The project requires the demolition of the old bridge while ensuring the passage of vehicles and ships during the construction period.
