Recently, Kyrgyzstan and China officially signed a bilateral agreement on the construction of modern logistics centers and border freight terminals at their borders. The agreement was signed on October 2, 2025 on the platform of the Kyrgyz National Investment Promotion Agency, marking new substantive progress in the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road" initiative between China and Kyrgyzstan.

According to the agreement, the total investment scale of the project is expected to reach 100-200 million US dollars. The first phase will focus on building modern logistics complexes and border freight terminals, creating a core hub for regional transportation and logistics infrastructure. On this basis, there are plans to establish a special trade zone in the future to comprehensively enhance Kyrgyzstan's international freight capacity and export competitiveness.

After the completion of the project, it will significantly increase the international freight volume between China and Kyrgyzstan, and enhance Kyrgyzstan's export capacity to the markets of the Eurasian Economic Union and neighboring countries. At the same time, the project will create a large number of job opportunities and drive the comprehensive development of supporting infrastructure in border areas.

The Kyrgyzstan National Investment Promotion Agency will be responsible for coordinating resources from all parties to ensure the smooth implementation of the project. This cooperation project is not only a concrete measure to implement the Kyrgyzstan President's policy of improving the investment environment, but also injects new impetus into deepening China Kyrgyzstan economic and trade cooperation.
