Recently, the Shanxi Provincial Department of Transportation officially launched the digital transformation and upgrading project of the province's highway transportation infrastructure. This strategic project, with a total investment of 2.06 billion yuan, marks a new stage in the development of Shanxi's transportation. The project focuses on ensuring energy supply and promoting cultural and tourism activities, and plans to comprehensively improve the operational efficiency and service level of highway transportation through digital means within three years.

After decades of development, Shanxi's transportation has achieved a significant leap from "bottleneck constraints" to "basic adaptation", but still faces challenges such as high operational pressure on the road network, long-term high saturation of coal transportation channels, and difficulties in expanding old road sections. To this end, Shanxi Innovation proposes to use digital transformation and upgrading to solve development problems, striving to achieve the goal of intensive development with less resources and capital investment, achieving the goal of spending small money, doing big things, and doing more.

The project focuses on busy road sections such as the Beijing Tianjin Hebei Chengdu Chongqing axis, the Beijing Tibet corridor, and the Erzhan corridor, selecting a total of 2611 kilometers of 4 highways, 6 ordinary national highways, and 1 provincial highway as demonstration channels. By creating four characteristic scenarios of efficient operation of heavy-duty transportation, convenient tourism transportation services, infrastructure monitoring and early warning, and coordinated governance of road police linkage, we strive to build a new pattern of intelligent transportation. It is expected that after the implementation of the project, the efficiency of the demonstration channel will increase by more than 20%, the efficiency of emergency response to emergencies will increase by more than 30%, and the satisfaction rate of public travel services will reach over 95%.
