Since the 14th Five Year Plan, Gansu has taken the Strong Foundation Action as a starting point to promote the historic reshaping of the transportation pattern in the revolutionary old areas of Qingyang, Pingliang, and Huining. Nearly 10 high-grade highways have been extended in the old area, with a road network density of over 74 kilometers per 100 square kilometers, nearly twice the average level of the province.

Qingyang entered the era of high-speed rail in 2020, and the Yinxi High speed Railway enabled Qingyang to travel to Xi'an in just one hour; The mileage of high-grade highways has reached 733 kilometers, with airport routes covering 12 cities and a passenger throughput of 607400, which is 1.7 times that of the end of the 13th Five Year Plan period. Pingliang has built 6 high-grade highways with a total length of 393 kilometers, and the city's high-grade highways have reached 527 kilometers, achieving the goal of connecting counties to highways two years ahead of schedule. The total length of rural roads in Huining has reached 6178 kilometers, achieving three percent access to oil roads in townships, hardened roads in established villages, and passenger vehicles.Editor/Cheng Liting
