On the morning of October 26, 2025, with the sound of the construction horn echoing throughout the land of Chaling, the long-awaited "Water Resource Allocation Project of Attracting Tao and Nourishing Zhuzhou" by the people of Zhuzhou, Hunan officially kicked off the construction. This strategic project, which carries the optimization of regional water resource allocation and guarantees long-term development water demand, not only marks a significant chapter in the history of water conservancy construction in Zhuzhou, but also injects a continuous stream of "water power" into the high-quality development of Zhuzhou and even the Changsha Zhuzhou Xiangtan region.

The Zhuzhou "Tao Run Zhu" water resource allocation project is a national medium-sized water diversion project with demonstrative significance. The project has successfully entered the national "dual" construction project list and the list of key construction projects in Hunan Province for 2025. The project has a grand scale, with a main water transmission line stretching 155.23 kilometers, supplemented by 62.37 kilometers of branch roads, and a designed flow rate of 9.74 cubic meters per second. After completion, 260 million cubic meters of high-quality water can be directed to Zhuzhou annually. The estimated total investment of the project is as high as 5.361 billion yuan, setting a historical record for the largest investment scale in water conservancy engineering construction in Zhuzhou City.

The implementation of this project aims to carefully weave a wide coverage regional water network. After its completion, it will effectively build the "main artery" of the Zhuzhou water network, significantly optimizing the overall water resource allocation pattern in the Changsha Zhuzhou Xiangtan area. At that time, it will benefit the main urban areas of Zhuzhou City, Chaling County, You County, and Liling City, as well as numerous towns and villages along the line, providing a more stable and high-quality water supply guarantee for a total of about 2.95 million residents, fundamentally alleviating the regional water supply and demand contradiction, and safeguarding the peace of the region.
