Recently, there has been heavy news in the field of transportation construction in Chongqing - the winning bid for the Huangjueping Yangtze River Bridge project with a total investment of 8.76 billion yuan has been officially announced. The winning bidder has stood out with mature technical solutions, rich experience in bridge construction, and reasonable cost planning, marking that this cross river channel connecting the core area of Chongqing has officially entered the substantive promotion stage.

The Huangjueping Yangtze River Bridge, as an important part of Chongqing's "Nine Vertical Lines", starts from the Huangjueping area of Jiulongpo District and connects to the Danzishi area of Nan'an District after crossing the Yangtze River. The total length of the bridge is about 4.3 kilometers. The main bridge adopts a large-span cable-stayed bridge design, and the bridge deck will be equipped with eight lanes in both directions, as well as supporting pedestrian walkways, non motorized vehicle lanes, and reserved space for rail transit. The project construction includes not only the main bridge across the river, but also ancillary works such as cross-strait connecting roads, interchanges, and underground supporting pipelines. The expected construction period is 4 years.

It is reported that the implementation of this project will completely break through the bottleneck of cross river transportation between Jiulongpo and Nan'an areas. Currently, the two places need to detour around the Egongyan Bridge or Caiyuanba Bridge, which takes about 40 minutes. After the bridge is completed, the travel time will be shortened to less than 15 minutes, greatly improving the efficiency of regional transportation. At the same time, the bridge will connect important functional areas such as Huangjueping Cultural and Creative District and Danzishi Central Business District, further promoting cross-strait industrial synergy and resource complementarity, injecting strong impetus into the high-quality development of the "Two Rivers and Four Banks" in the central urban area of Chongqing.

The relevant person in charge of the winning bidder stated that they will form a professional project team, strictly follow the design standards and construction specifications to promote construction, focus on tackling technical difficulties such as the complex geological conditions of the Yangtze River and safety control of large-span bridge construction, and simultaneously practice the concept of green construction to reduce the impact on the surrounding ecological environment and residents' lives. During the project construction period, it will also drive the demand for related industries such as steel and cement, and is expected to create thousands of job opportunities, providing strong support for local economic development.

The relevant person in charge of the Municipal Transportation Bureau introduced that the Huangjueping Yangtze River Bridge is a key project for Chongqing to improve the layout of cross river channels. After completion, it will complement the already built Yangtze River Bridge and further weave the transportation network of the central urban area. It is of great significance to enhance Chongqing's transportation hub function as a national central city and promote regional coordinated development. At present, the preliminary preparation work for the project has been launched synchronously, and we will accelerate the progress of construction drawing design, land use approval and other aspects to ensure the early start of construction.Editor/Bian Wenjun
