On October 30th local time, China Electric Power Construction Group Co., Ltd. and Kampung Speu Energy Co., Ltd. of Cambodia officially signed the EPC general contract for the 100 MW biomass photovoltaic joint power plant project in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. This project marks a new breakthrough for Chinese companies in promoting the optimization of Cambodia's energy structure and the development of clean energy.

The project is located in the central western part of Cambodia's Pursat Province, adopting an advanced "biomass+photovoltaic" combined power generation model. The planned construction capacity includes a 50 MW biomass power station and a 50 MW photovoltaic power station, and supporting transmission and transformation facilities will be built. This hybrid energy solution can effectively overcome the intermittent problem of single energy generation, achieve all-weather stable power supply, significantly improve the reliability of the local power grid and the proportion of renewable energy.

Kim Ming gil, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kampung Speu Energy Co., Ltd. in Cambodia, stated that the project will fully utilize the abundant agricultural waste resources in the area, solve environmental problems, and create economic benefits, making it a model for promoting sustainable development.

Zhou Jiayi, Deputy General Manager of China Electric Power Construction and General Manager of the Asia Pacific Regional Headquarters, stated at the signing ceremony that the company will fully leverage its technological advantages and rich experience in the field of clean energy construction to ensure high-quality and timely project production, and make positive contributions to Cambodia's energy supply and emission reduction goals by 2025. This project is another important achievement of China Power Construction in the Cambodian energy market, and is expected to be completed and put into operation by 2025. After the project is put into operation, it can provide approximately 260 million kilowatt hours of clean electricity annually, meeting the electricity needs of about 200000 households. At the same time, it can consume more than 300000 tons of local agricultural waste, create a large number of job opportunities, and achieve a win-win situation in terms of economic, social, and environmental benefits.
