On December 1, 2025, BYD Energy Storage successfully delivered and installed a 250MWh BYD Magic Cube energy storage system tailored for the Ford River Pilbara mining area, helping the region achieve green transformation.
The natural environment in the Pilbara region is harsh, and the mining area previously relied entirely on diesel generators for power supply, resulting in high energy consumption costs and high carbon emission intensity. BYD Energy Storage supplies 48 sets of BYD Rubik's Cube energy storage systems to the mining area, using leading energy storage dedicated blade batteries with a total capacity of 250MWh. It can store renewable energy generated during the day and provide green power to the Pilbara energy transmission network at night, providing safe and reliable clean power support for the production and operation of the mining area and important guarantee for the stability of the power grid in the region.
This is an important moment for Forbes River, as we are transitioning the mine's power supply from fossil fuels to a solution that combines renewable energy with energy storage systems, achieving a fundamental transformation of the energy structure.
