Recently, CtrlS Datacenters Ltd, an important enterprise in the Indian data center field, signed a strategically significant memorandum of understanding with NTPC Green Energy Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of India's National Thermal Power Corporation. According to the agreement, both parties will jointly build and operate grid connected renewable energy projects and assets with a total installed capacity of up to 2 gigawatts through various modes such as greenfield development and acquisition. This cooperation marks a crucial step for India in promoting the green transformation of digital infrastructure.

The memorandum of understanding was jointly signed by Sridhar Pinnapureddy, founder and CEO of CtrlS, and Sarit Maheshwari, CEO of NGEL. In the joint statement, both parties stated that this cooperation will focus on exploring potential cooperation opportunities in the field of renewable energy, effectively integrating their respective professional advantages and resources in energy development and digital infrastructure, and achieving the strategic goal of mutual benefit and win-win.

Sridhar Pinnapureddy, Founder and CEO of CtrlS Datacenters, said about this collaboration: "Working with NGEL, an energy giant, allows us to provide stable and reliable renewable energy to data centers across India, significantly improving energy efficiency and further advancing our firm commitment to achieving net zero operations by 2030. This cooperation fully demonstrates that in the process of promoting the development of next-generation digital infrastructure, technological innovation and sustainable development can not only go hand in hand, but are also inevitable trends in industry development. "

NGEL CEO Sarit Maheshwari added, "NGEL is committed to reducing its carbon footprint through the development of clean energy, creating a cleaner and more sustainable future for India and the world. In the new era of rapid development of artificial intelligence, ensuring reliable and green power supply is not only a basic requirement for sustainable development, but also a strategic priority related to national competitiveness. This collaboration with CtrlS marks a crucial step in building a resilient low-carbon digital infrastructure. "

According to the agreement details, the renewable energy project planned by both parties will provide clean electricity for the operation of CtrlS's data center, meeting its own needs, and can also be used for other commercial purposes on the basis of mutual agreement. The memorandum of understanding is valid for two years and provides flexible options for further extension, leaving ample room for long-term cooperation.

Founded in 2007, CtrlS Datacenters Ltd currently operates 16 data centers in nine major markets in India and is an important player in the data center industry in South Asia. The company is actively leading the industry towards renewable energy transformation and has announced plans to expand overseas markets such as the Middle East and Southeast Asia, with Thailand becoming its first international expansion target.
