Recently, a major industry news was uploaded at the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference: China Chemical Engineering Seventh Construction Co., Ltd. has officially won a $1.9 billion EPC general contract from Taziz Abu Dhabi, and will be responsible for building a large specialty chemical complex called the "Salt Project" in the Ruwais Industrial City. This signing marks the official launch of another important infrastructure project in the Middle East, expected to be completed and put into operation in the fourth quarter of 2028.

The project is located in the Taziz Industrial and Chemical Zone, a key area in Abu Dhabi. After completion, it can produce 1.9 million tons of chemical products such as polyvinyl chloride, dichloroethane, ethylene monomer, and caustic soda annually. These basic chemicals will meet the rapidly growing demand in fields such as construction, infrastructure, packaging, and healthcare, not only in the domestic market of the United Arab Emirates but also in the international market.
The signing of this contract is considered an important milestone in Taziz Company's development strategy. The company stated in a statement that this project will strongly drive industrial growth, localize the supply chain, and establish a new value chain in the UAE. Since 2021, the Taziz Industrial and Chemical Zone has attracted multiple foreign investors to participate in its construction, becoming an important component of the UAE's "300 Billion Dirhams Action" industrial strategy. It is worth noting that this project is also the first domestic public-private partnership project in Abu Dhabi's downstream oil, gas, and petrochemical industries. Last December, Taziz reached investment agreements with eight local entities in the United Arab Emirates, demonstrating the country's firm determination to promote industrial diversification. The successful bid of China Chemical Engineering Seventh Construction Co., Ltd. not only reflects the competitiveness of Chinese enterprises in the international engineering market, but also highlights the good trend of deepening cooperation between the Middle East and China in infrastructure construction.Editor/Cheng Liting
