Recently, the Moroccan National Airports Authority (ONDA) officially launched a public tender to build a brand new air passenger terminal at Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport. This major infrastructure project has a total investment of approximately 10 billion Moroccan dirhams (equivalent to 980 million US dollars), marking a new stage of development for the Moroccan aviation industry.
According to the local media "Hess", the new terminal is designed with an initial annual passenger throughput of 20 million and reserves the capacity to expand to 30 million. The project covers a total area of 600000 square meters and adopts an innovative "H" - shaped layout design. It was jointly created by three well-known architectural design companies, Ala Concept, RSHP Architects, and Egis B â timent International. The design plan includes a central main building and two wing buildings, as well as a new runway and air traffic control tower. It is worth mentioning that in the future, the terminal will also seamlessly connect with the high-speed railway connecting Tangier and Marrakesh.

The entire bidding project is divided into 9 sections, with a total construction period of 40 months. ONDA revealed that separate bidding documents related to aviation infrastructure, external engineering, and technical installation will be released in the future. At present, the site preparation work led by STAM company is progressing smoothly, and about 40% of the workload has been completed.
This grand terminal construction project is an important component of Morocco's "2030 Airport Master Plan". The plan aims to comprehensively improve the operational performance, service efficiency, and international connectivity of all airports in Morocco, by building world-class aviation infrastructure and enabling Morocco to occupy a more important position in the global aviation network.
The completion of the new terminal will greatly enhance Morocco's air transportation capacity, not only meeting the growing demand for passenger transport, but also significantly enhancing the country's competitiveness as an important aviation hub in Africa. The advancement of this project fully reflects Morocco's determination to build world-class airport facilities, and is expected to have a profound impact on local economic development and regional transportation connectivity.
