Recently, China First Metallurgical Group Corporation (MCC), with its rich experience in transportation engineering construction, strong technical strength, and comprehensive performance guarantee plan, successfully won the bid for the construction of the SG section of the 235 National Highway Pujiang Zhengjiawu to Yiwu Dachen section (Pujiang section), with a bid amount of over 352.4 million yuan, injecting strong impetus into the upgrading of the transportation network in central Zhejiang.

As an important connecting section of National Highway 235 in Zhejiang Province, this project is a key node in the transportation corridor connecting central Zhejiang. It connects Zhengjiawu Town in Pujiang to the north and Dachen Town in Yiwu to the south. After completion, it will break the existing transportation bottleneck between the two places and achieve rapid interconnection between Pujiang and the core area of Yiwu. The total length of the main line of the project is about 2.513 km, of which the ground road is 1.22 km long, and the main line bridge is about 2294 meters long. One interchange will be built at the same time. The design standard will benchmark first-class highway. The two-way six lane layout will be adopted. The design speed is 80 km per hour, and the total planned construction period is 1097 calendar days.

The construction content of the project covers bridge engineering, roadbed engineering, pavement engineering, and supporting transportation facilities, among which bridge engineering accounts for a high proportion and construction technology requirements are strict. The focus will be on tackling key technical problems such as cross regional geological adaptation and the connection of road rail intermodal nodes. The project team of China First Metallurgical Group Corporation will adhere to the concept of "building high-quality projects and building a century old foundation", scientifically plan the construction process, strengthen safety and quality control, use standardized and intelligent construction methods to improve construction efficiency, and ensure the timely and high-quality completion of the project.

After the completion of the project, it will not only significantly shorten the travel time from Pujiang to Yiwu, optimize the road network structure in central Zhejiang, but also further connect the core area of the Yangtze River Delta with the transportation arteries of surrounding provinces such as Fujian and Jiangxi, help promote regional industrial synergy, resource sharing, and urban-rural integration development, and provide solid transportation support for the high-quality development of the central Zhejiang urban agglomeration.

Based on the overall development strategy of the Yangtze River Delta integration, the implementation and construction of this project have deeper strategic significance. As a national trunk highway that runs through the five provinces of Shandong, Jiangsu, Anhui, Zhejiang, and Fujian, the opening of the Pujiang Yiwu section of National Highway 235 will further improve the "capillaries" of the national highway network in East China, achieve efficient linkage with regional transportation arteries such as Shanghai Kunming Expressway and Yongjin Expressway, and build a three-dimensional transportation pattern of "highway iron railway" multimodal transport.

From the perspective of regional development, the project connects Pujiang and Yiwu, which are respectively the characteristic industrial base of central Zhejiang and the global small commodity trading center. The two places have strong complementarity in manufacturing, commercial logistics, cultural and tourism resources and other fields. After the completion of the project, it will promote the deep integration of characteristic industries such as Pujiang crystal and padlocks with the Yiwu International Trade Platform, accelerate the coordinated integration of industrial and supply chains, and promote the connection of cultural and tourism resources between the two places, creating an economic corridor for the integrated development of "industry+cultural and tourism", injecting new vitality into the development of the Zhejiang Central Urban Agglomeration.

As a large state-owned construction enterprise, China First Metallurgical Group Corporation has been deeply involved in the construction of transportation infrastructure for many years. It has undertaken a number of key projects such as national highways, expressways, and bridges, and has accumulated rich experience in cross regional and difficult project construction. After winning the bid this time, the enterprise has formed a special working group to simultaneously promote the deepening of construction drawings, the entry of construction teams, and the allocation of materials and equipment. It will strictly follow the concepts of green and smart construction, pay attention to ecological environment protection during the construction process, and use modern means such as BIM technology and intelligent monitoring equipment to create safe, high-quality, efficient, and environmentally friendly demonstration projects. With practical actions, it will practice the responsibility of state-owned enterprises and help the central Zhejiang region achieve higher quality transportation interconnection and economic and social development.Editor/Bian Wenjun
