Saudi Arabia recently officially launched the comprehensive construction work of the core building "Muqab" of the new Muraba project. This giant cube shaped building, which is 400 meters high, 400 meters wide, and 400 meters long, will surpass all existing individual building scales upon completion, becoming a new milestone in global architectural history and marking the substantial construction phase of Saudi Arabia's "Vision 2030" economic diversification strategy.
New Muraba Development Company announced at the end of October 2025 that it has formed a strategic cooperation team with three top international engineering design companies. According to the division of labor, KPF Architecture Firm will lead the initial design work for the first residential community within the project. The community has a total construction area of 2 million square meters and is distributed across 53 plots, covering various functions such as high-end residential, hotel, retail, and leisure; Aecom and Jacobs jointly undertake the overall design consulting task for the core area of Muqab, ensuring the innovative design and technological implementation of this iconic building.
The latest engineering report on the project site shows that 86% of the excavation work at the base has been completed, and the cumulative amount of soil moved has exceeded 10 million cubic meters. To ensure the progress of the project, about 250 excavators and over 400 various equipment are operating simultaneously on site every day, setting a local record for construction intensity. This efficient progress of the project fully reflects the Saudi government's focus on promoting the project as a national strategic project.

As the soul of the project, the design concept of Muqab Architecture is highly forward-looking. The entire building is equipped with a fully enclosed dome atrium, and the walls are entirely composed of giant screens, creating the world's largest digital immersive experience space. The interior of the building also innovatively features a spiral tower structure, which includes a variety of formats such as indoor gardens, pedestrian streets, restaurants, and shops. Through the design of countless flying saucer shaped floors arranged in a staggered manner, a futuristic spatial experience is created.
