Recently, China's high-end equipment manufacturing has achieved a milestone breakthrough in "going global". On November 12th, Harbin Electric Power Group officially received the bid notification and successfully won the bid for all four sets of water pump turbines and their ancillary equipment for the Shangdadai Pumped Storage Power Station project in Cambodia. This marks the first time that China's pumped storage equipment has achieved international market access, which has profound significance for promoting the global layout of China's hydropower industry.

The Shangdadai Pumped Storage Power Station project is located in the Province of Cambodia, with a special status and significant importance. It is not only a key project in Cambodia's national energy strategy, but also a key cooperation project that the leaders of China and Cambodia personally care about and promote, carrying the important mission of solving the local power supply shortage and optimizing the energy structure. The project plans to install 4 pumped storage units with a single capacity of 250 megawatts, with a total installed capacity of 1000 megawatts. China Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd. will participate in the development and construction through BOT (Build Operate Transfer) mode. Keywords: the Belt and Road, the Belt and Road project news

The successful bid of Harbin Electric Power Group means that China's design, manufacturing, and integration capabilities in the high-end technology equipment field of large-scale pumped storage power stations have gained authoritative recognition in the international market. Pumped storage is currently the most mature and widely used large-scale energy storage method, which plays an irreplaceable role in ensuring the safety and stability of the power grid and promoting the consumption of new energy. The smooth progress of the project will not only provide strong support for Cambodia to build a stable and clean modern energy system, but also set a benchmark for China's advanced energy solutions to serve more countries and regions in the world. It is a model of international production capacity and equipment manufacturing cooperation under the "the Belt and Road" initiative.Editor/Cheng Liting
