Recently, Indian engineering contractor Nuberg EPC announced that it has won a key contract to provide engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) turnkey services for the chlor alkali and calcium chloride plants of Al Ghaith Chemical Industries, a private chemical company in Oman. This project is not only the second phase expansion of Al Ghaith's existing chemical complex in Sul Industrial City, but also known as Oman's first large-scale chlor alkali production capacity enhancement project, marking a further deepening of long-term cooperation between the two parties.

According to the contract, Nuberg EPC will be fully responsible for the design, front-end engineering and design, detailed engineering, equipment procurement, manufacturing, construction, commissioning, and final handover of the project on a lump sum turnkey basis. The project execution has officially started and is expected to be completed within 19 months.

This expansion plan has clear production capacity targets. The existing chlor alkali plant capacity of Al Ghaith will achieve a significant leap in production capacity by increasing it by 120 tons/day to 190 tons/day. At the same time, the project also includes the construction of a new calcium chloride factory with a production capacity of 80 tons per day. This combination will greatly enhance Al Ghaith's supply capacity and competitiveness in the basic chemicals and derivatives markets.

The partnership between Nuberg EPC and Al Ghaith Chemical Industries has a long history. This winning bid is based on past successful cooperation: Nuberg EPC provided EPC services for Al Ghaith's existing chlor alkali plant in Sul (with a production capacity of 70 tons/day). In addition, over the past decade, cooperation between the two parties has extended to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Nuberg EPC has completed projects for Al Ghaith in the region, including a chlor alkali plant (expanded from an initial 60 tons/day to 120 tons/day), a 125 ton/day calcium chloride plant, and a 50 ton/day carbon dioxide plant.

Nuberg EPC has established a solid reputation in the field of chemical construction in Oman. In addition to serving Al Ghaith, the company also successfully implemented a capacity expansion project for another local enterprise, Oman Chlorine, including a 45 ton/day new chlor alkali plant and an 80 ton/day new calcium chloride plant, thereby increasing Oman Chlorine's total chlor alkali capacity to 75 tons/day. These consecutive performances highlight Nuberg EPC's professional status and execution capabilities in the field of chlor alkali and downstream chemical engineering construction in the Middle East.
