The global energy market is about to undergo significant changes. The Jafurah gas field, which Saudi Aramco is fully developing, is expected to be put into operation in stages starting from 2025. This globally anticipated energy project has approximately 5.7 trillion cubic meters of recoverable natural gas reserves and is rich in ethane resources. Its production will have a profound impact on the global liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) market.

According to the development plan, the gas field will achieve a daily processing capacity of approximately 5.6 billion cubic meters within two years of production, and will further expand to 14 billion cubic meters per day by 2030. The gradual release of this production capacity will significantly enhance Saudi Arabia's position in the global energy market, especially in terms of LPG supply, which will bring significant increases.

It is worth noting that the energy trade between Saudi Arabia and China is becoming increasingly close. The latest industry data shows that in October this year, Saudi Arabia's LPG unloading volume to China reached about 175000 tons, accounting for 20% of the total port volume in the Middle East during the same period. As of November 18th, the LPG transportation volume from Saudi Aramco to China in November was about 96000 tons, with a total of 2 voyages, expected to arrive at Yantai Port and Longkou Port in Shandong Province respectively. The production plan of Jafurah gas field has important strategic significance. In the short term, this project will increase the domestic market supply of ethane and LPG in Saudi Arabia; In the medium to long term, it will significantly enhance its export capacity, which has a positive effect on ensuring energy supply security in the Asia Pacific region, especially in the Chinese market. As the 2025 production milestone approaches, the global energy trade pattern may usher in a new round of adjustment, and China Saudi Arabia energy cooperation is expected to move towards a deeper and broader stage of cooperation.
