Recently, China Datang Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "Datang") officially signed a cooperation agreement with the government of Azerbaijan for a 100MW photovoltaic power plant project. This landmark cooperation is not only a key measure for Datang to deepen its "going global" strategy and expand the new energy market in Central Asia, but also injects strong impetus into Azerbaijan's clean energy transformation and promotes the optimization and upgrading of the regional energy structure.

It is reported that the photovoltaic project is located in an area rich in solar energy resources in Azerbaijan, with a planned total installed capacity of 100MW and an estimated total investment of about 120 million US dollars. After the completion of the project, advanced and efficient photovoltaic modules and intelligent operation and maintenance systems will be adopted, with an average annual power generation of 180 million kilowatt hours and an annual reduction of about 150000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions, equivalent to saving 58000 tons of standard coal. The implementation of the project will effectively alleviate the pressure on electricity supply in Azerbaijan, reduce dependence on traditional fossil fuels, and provide important support for achieving the local goal of carbon neutrality.

As a leading enterprise in China's energy industry, Datang has profound technical accumulation and rich project experience in the entire industry chain of photovoltaic power plant investment, construction, and operation. Previously, it has landed multiple large-scale new energy projects at home and abroad, possessing strong resource integration capabilities and international operational strength. This cooperation with Azerbaijan is a precise alignment based on resource endowment and development needs - Azerbaijan has abundant renewable energy resources and is accelerating its energy transformation strategy in recent years, committed to increasing the proportion of clean energy in the energy consumption structure; And Datang's technological advantages and financial strength will provide solid guarantees for the efficient implementation of the project.

The relevant person in charge of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Energy stated that the photovoltaic project is an important cooperation achievement between China and Azerbaijan in the field of clean energy. It will not only create a large number of job opportunities for the local area, drive the development of upstream and downstream industries in the photovoltaic industry chain, but also set a benchmark for the development of regional renewable energy projects. The relevant person in charge of Datang Group emphasized that in the future, they will adhere to the principle of "consultation, co construction, and sharing", promote project construction with high standards and high quality, ensure early production and effectiveness of projects, and deepen long-term cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of new energy, contributing to the construction of a new ecology of energy cooperation between China and Azerbaijan and promoting global energy green transformation.

Industry analysis points out that with the deepening of the "dual carbon" target globally, the potential of the new energy market in Central Asia continues to be released. The cooperation between Datang and Azerbaijan not only expands the international market space of Chinese new energy enterprises, but also demonstrates China's technological strength and responsibility in the global clean energy transformation, providing replicable and promotable successful experience for Chinese enterprises to participate in overseas new energy project cooperation. Subsequently, with the gradual implementation of the project, it is expected to drive more Chinese new energy technologies, equipment, and services to "go global", further deepening practical cooperation in the energy field between China and foreign countries。Editor/Bian Wenjun
