In the global energy transition wave, hydrogen energy is becoming a highly anticipated clean energy option. Recently, Hyundai Motor Group announced the construction of a new generation hydrogen fuel cell production facility in Ulsan, South Korea, with a total investment of up to 930 billion Korean won (approximately 670 million US dollars), marking a crucial step in its hydrogen energy technology field.

The construction of core production capacity has been launched
Hyundai's new factory in Ulsan is scheduled to officially start production in 2027, with the ability to produce 30000 fuel cell units annually. This production capacity not only far exceeds the current level, but also significantly reduces production costs, laying the foundation for the wider application of hydrogen fuel cells in various fields. Through large-scale production, Hyundai aims to accelerate the transition of hydrogen energy technology from the laboratory to the market and promote the overall upgrading of the industry chain.

Expand the application of non road equipment
The commissioning of the new factory will focus on promoting the commercialization of hydrogen power in non road equipment. Unlike traditional cars, non road equipment such as construction machinery, agricultural machinery, and port equipment have higher requirements for the durability and environmental friendliness of the power system. Hydrogen fuel cells, with their advantages of zero emissions, high energy density, and fast refueling, are expected to be the first to achieve large-scale applications in these fields, thereby reducing carbon emissions and helping the industry's green transformation.
