Under the vast skyline of the Qinghai Tibet Plateau, a tough battle for green energy construction is about to begin. Recently, China Construction Third Engineering Bureau and China Construction Sixth Engineering Bureau First Construction Company successfully won the bid for the power collection line project of the Haixi 2 million kilowatt wind power project in Qinghai Oilfield. This order, with a total value of over 3.4 billion yuan, will allow the two state-owned construction enterprises to compete in technology and perseverance on the "Roof of the World". They will lay an energy artery with a total length of 421.2 kilometers in extreme cold and oxygen deficient environments, efficiently collecting clean electricity generated by 320 wind turbines. This project not only tests the hard power of China's construction, but also writes a new chapter in China's energy transformation.

Plateau construction faces multiple challenges

This wind power project located in Haixi, Qinghai can be regarded as a comprehensive test of China's infrastructure strength. The construction team not only has to deal with harsh environments such as high cold, oxygen deficiency, strong winds, and large temperature differences all year round, but also has to overcome practical problems such as decreased mechanical efficiency, insufficient physical fitness of personnel, and difficulties in concrete curing. During the brief construction window each year, they need to build 80 new 35 kV lines and complete the laying of 421.2 kilometers of power collection lines.

This project is like building a massive 'nervous system' for a wind farm, with system complexity far exceeding that of ordinary transmission projects in terms of path planning, electromagnetic balance, lightning protection and grounding. More importantly, in the ecologically fragile Qinghai Tibet Plateau, every step from earthwork excavation to line laying operations must adhere to the environmental red line, achieving a delicate balance between engineering construction and ecological protection.

The core advantages behind winning the bid

Faced with such a daunting engineering challenge, the winning bid reflects the company's profound technological accumulation. China Construction Third Engineering Bureau and China Construction Sixth Engineering Bureau have formed a mature high-altitude construction special system based on their rich experience in extreme environmental construction. From the selection of special machinery, personnel ladder style adaptability training, to low-temperature concrete formula, high wind speed precision lifting scheme, these "technical treasures" that have been tested through multiple major project practices constitute the irreplaceable core competitiveness of enterprises. At the same time, relying on a strong global procurement and logistics network, the two companies can ensure high-quality and stable supply of cable tower materials for hundreds of kilometers in remote areas. This excellent resource integration capability is the fundamental guarantee for timely project performance.

Fine management ensures engineering quality

In this technically complex mega project, traditional extensive management is completely unable to meet the requirements. The winning bidder will deeply apply cutting-edge technologies such as BIM and digital twins to the full cycle management of engineering. Before construction, through precise collision detection and construction simulation, effectively optimize the plan and prevent potential risks; During the construction process, with the help of IoT and big data technology, precise control of progress, quality, and cost can be achieved; After the completion of the project, a "digital twin" model that corresponds to the physical height can be delivered, providing full lifecycle support for the owner's subsequent intelligent operation and maintenance. This digital management approach not only directly improves the quality of the project, but also significantly reduces the overall cost of project operation and maintenance. This energy project with a total investment of 3.4 billion yuan is not only a high recognition of China's infrastructure strength, but also a comprehensive test of the comprehensive construction ability of construction enterprises in extreme environments. With the advancement of the project, this winding green energy "artery" on the Qinghai Tibet Plateau will undoubtedly become a new benchmark in China's new energy construction field, contributing important strength to the construction of a beautiful China.
