Against the backdrop of deepening cooperation in new energy between Europe and Asia, China's photovoltaic industry's "going global" strategy has once again borne fruit. Recently, Alfa Solar, a well-known solar energy enterprise in Türkiye, and Chint New Energy, a subsidiary of Chint Group, officially signed a joint venture agreement. The two sides will jointly build a large photovoltaic production base integrating silicon chips and battery chips in Türkiye's Balkeasir Province. The first phase of the project has an investment of about 200 million US dollars (equivalent to 1.42 billion yuan), with a planned annual production capacity of 2.5GW, marking a new level of localization layout for Chinese photovoltaic enterprises overseas and injecting new momentum into the development of the global green energy industry.

Joint venture projects create a new model of industrial cooperation

According to the cooperation agreement, this photovoltaic manufacturing base will adopt advanced production technology and equipment, mainly producing high-efficiency silicon wafers and solar cells. After completing the relevant equity transfer and capital increase procedures, Alfa Solar and Chint New Energy will each hold 50% of the equity of the joint venture company, achieving true complementary advantages and win-win cooperation. As a leader in Türkiye's photovoltaic industry, Alfa Solar has an annual module capacity of nearly 2 GW by July 2025, and has deep channel resources and brand influence in the local market. As one of the earliest companies in China to enter the photovoltaic industry, Chint New Energy has always maintained a leading position in the research and mass production of n-type TOPCon technology.

Chint New Energy performs excellently in the global market

Chint Solar's performance in the global photovoltaic market in recent years has been remarkable. In 2024, the company's global component shipments reached 40.2GW, ranking sixth in the world. Among them, the domestic market shipped 26.1GW, accounting for 65%; Overseas market shipments amounted to 14.1GW, accounting for 35%, and the level of internationalization continues to improve. In the first three quarters of 2025, the company will continue to maintain a steady growth trend, with global module shipments reaching 27.3GW, including 16.8GW in the domestic market and 10.5GW in the overseas market, demonstrating strong market competitiveness and risk resistance. These impressive data provide strong support for this overseas investment.

Türkiye becomes an important strategic fulcrum

Chint New Energy has always adhered to a global development strategy. Within China, the company has established advanced intelligent manufacturing bases in Haining, Zhejiang, Yancheng, Jiangsu, Jiuquan, Gansu, Songyuan, Jilin, Fengyang, Anhui and other places, forming a complete domestic industrial layout. In terms of overseas market expansion, the company invested and built a photovoltaic manufacturing base in Thailand in the early years, and has taken Türkiye as a key strategic market in recent years. Following the successful construction of the 1GW component factory in Adana, Türkiye, it was announced in March 2025 to invest 700 million dollars in the construction of the 5GW integrated chemical plant in Balk Essir. This cooperation with Alfa Solar is the third manufacturing project of Chint Xinneng in Türkiye, which fully reflects the company's high attention and long-term commitment to the Türkiye market. This series of strategic layouts will not only help Chint New better serve global markets such as Europe and the Middle East, but also further enhance the influence of China's photovoltaic industry in the global supply chain. With the implementation of this project, Chint Solar's position in the global photovoltaic industry will be further consolidated, and it will also make positive contributions to promoting deep cooperation between China and Turkey in the field of new energy.
