In early spring of 2025, a milestone energy cooperation project will kick off on the vast land of the Khyber Oblast in Kazakhstan. The Nantian Electric Power Kazakhstan Jiangbul Combined Cycle Power Station project, constructed by China Power Construction Group Co., Ltd., has officially started construction. This is not only a strategic energy project planned by the Kazakhstan government, but also marks the first successful entry of China's independently developed F-class heavy-duty gas turbine into the country, achieving a historic leap from domestic application to international export.

Project Overview and Strategic Significance

This project is located in the northeast of Aishabibi District, Taraz City, Jiangbuhr Oblast, Kazakhstan, and is an important achievement of deepening cooperation between China and Kazakhstan in the field of energy infrastructure. The project plan adopts three 50 MW heavy-duty gas turbines independently developed by China as the core power generation equipment. The first phase of the project has a combined cycle installed capacity of 70 MW, and the second phase will be expanded to 140 MW. The implementation of this project not only demonstrates the depth and breadth of energy cooperation between China and Kazakhstan, but also represents a significant breakthrough in China's high-end power equipment manufacturing technology in the international market, providing strong evidence for China's manufacturing to go global.

Technological breakthroughs and energy transformation

The F-class heavy-duty gas turbine exported this time is an important achievement independently developed by China in the field of heavy-duty gas turbines, representing the current technological level of China in this field. After the project is completed and put into operation, it is expected that the annual power supply will reach about 1.5 billion kilowatt hours, which can provide stable and reliable power supply for the southern region of Kazakhstan. The power station adopts advanced combined cycle technology, which will significantly improve energy utilization efficiency, promote the transformation of Kazakhstan's traditional energy structure towards high efficiency and cleanliness, enhance the peak shaving capacity and operational stability of the regional power grid, and provide important support for the modernization and upgrading of the local energy system. Comprehensive economic and social benefits

In addition to energy supply benefits, the project will also create over 200 stable job opportunities for the local area, effectively promoting local employment and skills training. The construction and operation of power stations will drive the development of related supporting industries, form a virtuous industrial chain effect, and inject new vitality into the local economic and social development. As a key project of energy cooperation between China and Kazakhstan, the completion of this power station will not only meet Kazakhstan's growing electricity demand, but also provide solid energy security for the industrial revitalization and improvement of people's livelihoods in the southern region, becoming a model of win-win cooperation between the two countries and demonstrating China's responsibility in promoting global energy transformation and infrastructure construction.
