On November 27, 2025, under the personal witness of Egyptian Prime Minister Mustafa Madbury, Kunming Chuanjinnuo Chemical Co., Ltd. achieved a landmark breakthrough in its investment in the Suez Phosphorus Chemical Project in Egypt. Chuanjinnuo Egypt Chemical Co., Ltd. officially completed its registration and signed a land "usufructuary transfer agreement" with Egyptian land supplier Sewedi. The signing of this agreement not only marks the official acquisition of 46 years of land use rights for the project, but also signifies the completion of a key leap from planning to implementation for China's first independently invested overseas production base in the phosphorus chemical industry, opening up the Chinese model of phosphorus chemical globalization.

Technology going global rewrites the industrial landscape

Phosphorus chemical industry, as a global strategic basic chemical industry, has long been dominated by European and American companies in terms of core technology and high value-added product market. The landing of the Chuanjinnuo Egypt project represents an important transformation of Chinese phosphorus chemical enterprises from simply exporting products to comprehensive output of technology, standards, and production capacity.

The total planned investment for the project is approximately 1.934 billion yuan. It will construct an integrated production facility in the Suez Gulf Economic Zone of Egypt, with an annual output of 800000 tons of sulfuric acid, 300000 tons of wet process crude phosphoric acid, 150000 tons of 52% phosphoric acid, 300000 tons of monoammonium phosphate, and 20000 tons of sodium fluorosilicate. This complete industrial chain layout not only covers basic phosphorus chemical products, but also extends to fine chemical fields such as fluorosilicone chemical industry, fully demonstrating the progressiveness of China's phosphorus chemical technology and the ability of industrial chain integration.

It is particularly noteworthy that the wet process phosphoric acid production technology used in this project is a mature process independently developed by China, which has the advantages of low energy consumption, low pollution, and high resource utilization rate. Promoting the application of this technology in Egypt, a country with abundant phosphate resources, can not only help improve local resource utilization efficiency, but also change the long-term dependence of the phosphorus chemical industry in the Middle East on European and American technology.

A model for responding to the the Belt and Road Initiative

The Gulf of Suez in Egypt is located at the junction of Asia, Africa, and Europe, guarding the Suez Canal, a global shipping hub, with unparalleled geographical advantages. Chuanjinnuo's decision to establish a production base here reflects the company's profound strategic vision. After the completion of the project, the product will not only radiate to the Middle East and African markets, but also conveniently enter the European market through the Suez Canal, significantly reducing logistics costs and enhancing product competitiveness.

From the perspective of project progress, the model of Chinese enterprises going global is undergoing profound changes. The Chuanjinnuo Egypt project adopts an innovative model of government support, enterprise leadership, and market-oriented operation. The Egyptian Prime Minister personally witnessed the signing ceremony, demonstrating the Egyptian government's high importance and support for the project; By obtaining land use rights, independent planning, construction, and operation through market-oriented means, enterprises ensure the commercial feasibility and sustainable development of projects.

This model is different from traditional government aid projects and pure resource acquisition investment. Instead, it organically combines China's technological advantages and management experience with the host country's resource endowment and location advantages, achieving true mutual benefit and win-win results.

Building a sustainable industrial ecosystem

The successful implementation of the project is not only reflected in the commercial aspect, but also in the deep integration with the local society. Registering Chuanjinnuo Egypt Company locally means fully complying with Egyptian laws and regulations and actively fulfilling corporate social responsibility. During the project construction period, it is expected to create a large number of job opportunities, and after operation, professional talents will be trained locally through technical training.

More noteworthy is that the project plan clearly states that the development path of extending the high-end phosphorus chemical industry chain in the second phase will be promoted at an appropriate time based on the operation of the first phase. This indicates that Chinese companies are not simply transferring production capacity, but are committed to building a complete phosphorus chemical industry ecosystem in Egypt, helping the local area achieve a transformation from resource export to industrial upgrading.

In terms of environmental standards, the project will adopt China's latest environmental protection technologies and standards to ensure the protection of the ecological environment of the Mediterranean while promoting local economic development. This responsible investment concept will set a good demonstration effect for Chinese enterprises in countries along the the Belt and Road.

Embark on a new era of globalization in phosphorus chemical industry

The successful promotion of the Chuanjinnuo Egypt project has profound demonstration significance for China's phosphorus chemical industry. With the continuous improvement of domestic environmental protection requirements and the tightening of resource constraints, going global for phosphorus chemical enterprises has become an inevitable choice for industry development. This project has explored a new path for international development through technology output and standard output.

From the perspective of the global industrial landscape, the layout of Chinese phosphorus chemical enterprises in the Middle East will change the existing supply chain system. Traditionally, phosphorus chemical products in the Middle East mainly rely on imports or investment from European and American companies for production. Chinese enterprises are expected to make significant breakthroughs in this market with mature technology, complete industrial chains, and more competitive cost advantages.

At the same time, this project also provides a new template for capacity cooperation between China and Middle Eastern countries. Under the framework of the the Belt and Road, China and Egypt have deepened cooperation through industrial investment, which has not only promoted Egypt's industrialization process, but also found new market space for China's advantageous production capacity, realizing real mutual benefit and win-win results.

Create a model of China Egypt production capacity cooperation

With the formal signing of the land agreement, the Chuanjinnuo Egypt project is about to enter the comprehensive construction phase. In the next three years, a modern phosphorus chemical production base will be built on the shore of the Gulf of Suez. This is not only a showcase of China's phosphorus chemical technology strength, but also an important achievement in deepening economic and trade cooperation between China and Egypt. The successful implementation of the project will create over 1000 direct employment opportunities and thousands of indirect employment opportunities for the local area, drive the development of related supporting industries, and promote the improvement of Egypt's industrial system. At the same time, through technology transfer and talent training, a group of professional talents with international perspectives and cross-cultural management abilities will be cultivated for the Chinese phosphorus chemical industry.Editor/Cheng Liting
