On December 15, 2025, Mingyang Intelligent successfully won the large order for wind turbines and ancillary equipment for the second site (600MW) of Datang Hainan Danzhou 1.2 million kilowatt offshore wind power project, with a winning bid price of 1.8342 billion yuan, marking a solid step forward for China's offshore wind power industry.
600MW offshore wind power single order
The Datang Hainan Danzhou 1.2 million kilowatt offshore wind power project is located in the northwest sea area of Danzhou City, Hainan Province, with a planned total installed capacity of 1.2 million kilowatts. It consists of two sites and shares a switch station. The total capacity of the second site awarded this time is 600MW, and it will be equipped with 60 10MW wind turbines, with hub height not less than 140 meters and impeller diameter not less than 240 meters, using a limited steel tower scheme. The project construction period is from March 10, 2026 to November 30, 2026, and the equipment delivery date is from April to October 2026. It is worth mentioning that the first site (600MW) of the project has been connected to the grid for power generation in the first quarter of this year, and the smooth progress of the second site will achieve full capacity production of the project, injecting strong green power into the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port.

10MW wind turbine leads the industry
The wind turbine unit that won the bid this time adopts an advanced technology solution with a single capacity of 10MW, which is currently the mainstream model in China's offshore wind power field. The design with a hub height of no less than 140 meters can fully utilize high-quality offshore wind energy resources and improve power generation efficiency. The impeller diameter is not less than 240 meters, which means a larger sweeping area and stronger single machine power generation capacity. The project adopts a limited steel tower scheme, which does not accept capacity reduction, but allows mixed discharge, that is, the same single unit capacity can have different hub heights and impeller diameters. This flexible configuration method can better adapt to the wind resource conditions in different sea areas and achieve optimal power generation benefits.
Annual reduction of 2.87 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions
After the project is fully put into operation, the annual on grid electricity can reach 3.66 billion kilowatt hours, which is equivalent to saving 1.1 million tons of standard coal and reducing 2.87 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually. This is of great significance for improving regional environmental quality and promoting energy structure optimization.
