When Europe's wind power bases urgently need stable output, North America's power grid faces peak valley regulation pressure, and Asia Pacific's new energy projects seek supporting energy storage solutions, a global energy storage "rush to install" is fully unfolding. In this context, Chinese energy storage enterprises have become the core supply force in the global market by virtue of the advantages of the whole industry chain and the strength of technology iteration. Recently, a subsidiary of Trina Solar, in collaboration with Chinese companies such as Wotai Energy and Hanfu Energy, has received a series of good news, winning three major overseas energy storage orders in North America and Europe, with a cumulative cooperation scale of over 1.32GWh, demonstrating the hardcore competitiveness of China's "smart" manufacturing in the global energy transformation.

Focusing on core markets, precise and adaptable technical solutions
The 1.32GWh overseas order won by Chinese enterprises this time precisely targets the core areas with the strongest global energy storage demand, and achieves customized adaptation in technical solutions:
Tianhe Energy Storage has deepened its strategic cooperation with US energy storage operator Lightshift Energy. The newly added orders adopt the Elementa Diamond series energy storage solutions, combined with the new generation PCS and localized EMS systems, to build a 4-hour independent grid connection solution. The cumulative cooperation scale between the two parties has exceeded 1GWh in history. The four major energy storage projects in Massachusetts that were previously cooperated with have been successfully landed and operated.
The orders from Wotai Energy and Hanfu Energy are focused on the European market, providing energy storage systems with both long cycle life and intelligent scheduling capabilities to meet the high safety standards and high penetration rate of renewable energy in the local area, and to meet the needs of distributed photovoltaic matching and grid frequency regulation.
It is worth noting that this is not an isolated order breakthrough. Since September 2025, Trina Solar has continuously signed multiple G-class overseas orders, with a total of over 10 GWh of newly signed overseas energy storage orders. The current orders cover the delivery cycle from 2025 to 2026, making it one of the "leading geese" for Chinese enterprises going global.

Double the order volume and increase it
The strong momentum of Chinese enterprise energy storage going global is not an isolated case but a common phenomenon in the industry. Data shows that in the first three quarters of 2025, Chinese companies obtained 214.7 GWh of new overseas energy storage orders, a year-on-year increase of 131.75%, exceeding the total amount for the whole year of 2024. The business scope covers major markets such as Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific.
At the enterprise level, the performance of top players is particularly impressive: Sunshine Power's 2025 energy storage shipment target is 40-50 GWh, and the proportion of overseas shipments has risen from 63% to 83%; CATL Energy Storage Battery holds the top global market share, with cooperative clients including international giants such as Tesla and Fluence; BYD, with its vertical integration advantage, has won multiple major projects in the high-end European and American markets, with cumulative sales exceeding 30GWh. From "single point breakthrough" to "comprehensive flowering", Chinese enterprises are accelerating from "followers" in the global energy storage market to "runners" and even "leaders".

Four major advantages support the global competitiveness of Chinese enterprises
Chinese enterprises are able to stand out in the global rush to install due to multiple synergistic advantages in technology, cost, industrial chain, and delivery capabilities:
Leading in technological iteration: Liquid cooled energy storage systems, ultra large capacity battery cells, AI intelligent scheduling and other technologies are widely used. Products such as Tianhe Energy Storage Elementa series and Huawei Intelligent String System have an energy efficiency of over 92% and a cycle life of over 8000 times, and have passed international authoritative certifications such as UL9540A.
Strong cost control: China has over 70% of the global battery production capacity, forming a complete industrial chain cluster. The cost of energy storage systems is 15% -20% lower than similar overseas products. By 2025, the global cost of lithium battery energy storage systems will have dropped to below 1200 yuan/kWh, highlighting its economic advantages.
Outstanding delivery efficiency: relying on large-scale manufacturing capabilities and mature project management experience, the execution cycle of Chinese enterprise projects is 30% shorter than international peers, which can accurately match the urgent delivery needs of the global rush to install.Editor/Bian Wenjun
