The transportation pattern in the hinterland of central Sichuan is about to undergo a historic reshaping! Recently, the bidding results for the preliminary survey, design, and construction drawing survey and design project of the newly built Mianyang Suining Ziyang Neijiang section of the Mianyang Suining Ziyang Neijiang railway (hereinafter referred to as the "Mianyang Suining Neijiang section") were officially announced. The consortium formed by China Railway Eryuan Engineering Group Co., Ltd. and Sichuan Provincial Highway Planning Survey and Design Institute Co., Ltd. successfully won the first place with a bidding price of 252 million yuan. This major transportation project with a total investment of approximately 20.5 billion yuan marks its transition from the planning stage to the substantive promotion stage. In the future, it will connect the three cities of central Sichuan and inject strong transportation momentum into the construction of the Chengdu Chongqing dual city economic circle.

Accurate route layout: 107 kilometers connecting three cities, weaving a dense regional transportation network
The Suinei section of the Mianyang Suining Zinei Railway is designed with the core layout of "north-south connectivity and efficient connection". It starts from the southern exit of the under construction Suining High tech Station in the north, connects Anju District of Suining City and Anyue County of Ziyang City in the south, and finally connects to the existing Neijiang North Station of the Neijiang Luzhou High speed Railway in Neijiang City. The newly built main line has a total length of 107.786 kilometers and a design speed of 250 kilometers per hour. After completion, it will realize the vision of "half-hour commuting" between cities in central Sichuan.
In terms of station and supporting engineering, the project will build a new Anju Station, efficiently utilizing the under construction Anyue Station on the Chengdu Chongqing Central Line and the existing Neijiang North Station on the Neijiang Luzhou High speed Railway, achieving seamless connection with the existing railway network in the region; At the same time, a new Neijiang North storage yard and related projects will be planned, along with the construction of 3.774 kilometers of new dynamic tracks (left track) and 3.959 kilometers of reserved dynamic tracks (right track). Additionally, a 6.969 kilometer Neijiang Wanzhou connecting line (converted) will be constructed simultaneously to comprehensively enhance the transportation scheduling flexibility and radiation capacity of the line.
It is worth noting that this line, as a key southern section of the Mianyang Suining Zinei Railway, echoes the Mianyang Suining section that started construction in August 2024. At present, the construction of Mianyang Suining Section is progressing smoothly. The continuous beams of memorial archway Bay Bridge across Hanrong Expressway have been successfully closed, with a total of 15% of subgrade works, 18% of bridge works, and 16% of tunnel works completed. It is planned to be completed and opened to traffic by the end of 2028. After the completion of the whole line, it will form a major traffic artery that runs through 11 county level administrative regions in five cities of Sichuan.

The winning consortium will undertake the full process technical support tasks of the project from preliminary design to construction drawing design, covering core work such as engineering survey, surveying, and precise measurement network (CPI, CPII) layout. At the same time, they need to complete the preparation and approval of relevant special research reports, submit qualified achievement documents that meet national standards, and lay a solid technical foundation for the subsequent construction of the project.
As a key project in the national "Medium - and Long Term Railway Network Plan" and the Chengdu Chongqing Economic Circle Rail Transit Special Plan, the survey and design work of the Suining section of the Mianyang Suining Zinei Railway faces multiple challenges. The terrain and landforms of the areas along the route are complex, and it is necessary to fully connect the technical standards of existing and under construction railways, while also considering transportation efficiency and ecological protection. This places extremely high demands on the professional ability and overall coordination level of the design team. The joint participation of two leading enterprises in the industry will provide top-notch technical support and rich practical experience for the project, ensuring that the engineering design is scientifically reasonable and economically feasible.

This railway trunk line with a total investment of 20.5 billion yuan is not only a "transportation line", but also an "economic line" and "livelihood line" in the central Sichuan region. Its construction significance far exceeds transportation itself.
At the regional connectivity level, the project will fill the gap in the high-speed railway network in central Sichuan, connecting the Chenglan Railway and Xicheng Passenger Dedicated Line in the north, the Dacheng Railway and Suiyu Railway in the middle, and the Chenggui Railway and Chongqing Kunming High speed Railway in the south. It will build a strategic corridor that connects the northwest and southwest to southern and eastern China, upgrading the hinterland of central Sichuan from a "transportation node" to a "hub center".
At the level of economic empowerment, the route will strengthen the efficient connection between the three major economic zones of Chengdu Plain, southern Sichuan, and northeastern Sichuan. The travel time from Suining to Neijiang and Mianyang will be significantly shortened, and counties such as Anju and Anyue along the route will be directly integrated into the Chengdu Chongqing "1-hour economic circle".
