When Türkiye's vast land, natural gas pipelines are waiting for the opportunity of power upgrading, an infrastructure giant from China is injecting new momentum into the efficient operation of the local energy network with a heavy order. On December 23, 2025, POWERCHINA (601669) released a major contract announcement, and its subsidiary, POWERCHINA International Engineering Co., Ltd., officially signed a contract with Türkiye Taman Oil and Gas Co., Ltd. to undertake the construction of Türkiye Taman Gas Booster Station 2, 4, 5, and 7 (second package) projects, with a contract amount of up to 6.626 billion yuan, which also became another landmark achievement of POWERCHINA in the field of energy infrastructure in West Asia.

Four station linkage spanning multiple provinces
The winning project covers four natural gas booster stations, and the site selection and distribution are of great strategic significance - Station 2 is rooted in Khorasan Province, Station 4 is located in Sivas Province, Station 5 is located in Kireshir Province, and Station 7 is located in Ipsala District. The four stations are connected in series from east to west to form key natural gas transmission nodes in Türkiye. After completion, the regional natural gas transmission efficiency and pipeline network stability will be greatly improved.
According to the contract agreement, China Electric Power Construction Corporation will undertake the full chain construction tasks of the project, including the overall design of four booster stations, procurement and installation of core equipment, and post commissioning work. Among them, the procurement and installation of key equipment such as compressors, gas turbines, pipelines within the factory area, and air compressors are the core of the project. Only Station 2 does not include the procurement of gas turbines and compressors due to project planning. The overall construction period of the project is set to be 55 months. The long construction period not only tests the project management ability of enterprises, but also means that POWERCHINA will continue to cultivate the energy infrastructure market in Türkiye in the coming years.

Building a benchmark for overseas energy engineering
As a leading enterprise in the global energy infrastructure field, China Power Construction has accumulated rich technical experience and project cases in energy engineering construction such as natural gas booster stations and long-distance pipelines. The winning of the bid for the Türkiye project is the double proof of its technical strength and brand reputation.
As the "power heart" of natural gas transmission pipelines, natural gas booster stations have extremely high requirements for equipment installation accuracy and system debugging standards. Powerchina will rely on its own technical advantages in energy engineering design and construction, and tailor the construction scheme to the geographical environment and climate conditions of different provinces in Türkiye to ensure the long-term stable operation of the four booster stations after completion. At the same time, during the project execution process, China Power Construction will also drive a batch of domestically produced energy equipment to go abroad, helping to deepen the integration of China's high-end equipment manufacturing with overseas infrastructure markets.

Writing a new chapter in energy cooperation
In recent years, China Power Construction Corporation has made frequent moves in the field of overseas energy infrastructure, from hydropower station construction in Southeast Asia, to photovoltaic power station projects in Africa, and to natural gas pipeline network projects in West Asia. Its business scope has been continuously expanded, becoming an important force for Chinese enterprises to "go global" and participate in global energy governance.
The signing of the natural gas booster station project in Türkiye not only brings considerable revenue expectations to Powerchina, but also deepens the cooperation ties between China and Turkey in the energy field. Türkiye, located at the border of Asia and Europe, is an important hub connecting the energy producing regions in the Middle East and the European consumer market. The completion of the four booster stations will further improve Türkiye's natural gas transmission network and help it improve its energy self-sufficiency and regional energy allocation efficiency.

For China Power Construction, the smooth implementation of this project will accumulate more project experience in the West Asian region and lay the foundation for exploring more overseas energy infrastructure markets in the future. In the future, with the steady progress of project construction, PowerChina may continue to sail with technology and paddle with strength, and sail towards more new cooperation ports in the blue ocean of global energy infrastructure.Editor/Bian Wenjun
