The cranes at Dammam Port slowly lifted the goods, and behind it was an agreement signed by three parties that was turning this hot land into a new trading hub connecting the three continents.
The golden hub connecting three continents
The Dammam integrated supply chain node is located in the prime location of Dammam's core port area in Saudi Arabia, and this choice has been carefully considered. Dammam Port, as an important port along the Persian Gulf coast, has always been a key logistics node in the Middle East region. The new node directly connects the trade channels of Asia, Africa, and Europe, occupying a strategic position in the East West shipping routes. Ships from East Asia to Europe and goods from East Africa to Central Asia can all be transshipped here. This layout accurately grasps the trend of global supply chain restructuring. Against the backdrop of slowing globalization, the importance of regional supply chain nodes is increasingly prominent. The Dammam node will become a regional hub, serving both the local market and connecting the global network. At the signing ceremony, project participants stated that this layout will "connect the logistics hub of West Asia region with the key connection point of the global shipping network", and help the global trade pattern develop towards a more balanced and efficient direction.
Integrated Collaborative System of Ship Port and Yard
The core innovation of Daman Node lies in the construction of an integrated collaborative system of "ship port field". This system will completely change the traditional port operation mode. Professional fleets such as multi-purpose ships, semi submersible ships, and automobile ships will receive seamless logistics services here. After the goods are unloaded from the ship, they can directly enter the storage, processing or distribution process, greatly reducing transit time and costs. The project pays special attention to solving the "last mile" problem in the supply chain. By precisely strengthening the shortcomings of the C-section service, customers will receive an end-to-end, full process integrated logistics solution. This innovative model achieves a value upgrade from a "transportation service provider" to a "supply chain partner". Customers are no longer just purchasing transportation services, but have access to complete supply chain solutions, including warehousing, distribution, and value-added services.

Serve the the Belt and Road and Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030
The establishment of the Dammam node is of far-reaching strategic significance. It is an important action of COSCO Shipping Special Transport to actively serve the joint construction of the the Belt and Road and deeply connect with Saudi Arabia's 2030 vision. This project reflects the growing influence of Chinese enterprises in the global supply chain system. By deeply extending from shipping and transportation to supply chain operations at key logistics nodes in the Middle East, Chinese enterprises have enhanced their functional layout and resource control in the regional supply chain system. The project will also contribute professional strength to promoting economic and trade cooperation between China and Saudi Arabia, and ensuring stable and smooth industrial and supply chains. As one of the largest economies in the Middle East, Saudi Arabia is committed to achieving economic diversification and reducing its dependence on oil. The Dammam node will provide solid logistics infrastructure support for this, helping Saudi Arabia achieve its economic transformation goals in the 2030 vision.
With the completion of the second phase of the project, Daman Node will control up to 100000 square meters of core supply chain resources. In the future, cargo ships from East Asia to Europe will find the most intelligent logistics services here, and precision equipment shipped from Europe to Asia will be seamlessly transferred here. This hub located in Dammam Port will become a new symbol of cooperation between China and Saudi Arabia. More regional supply chain nodes are being planned, and the global trade network is becoming denser and more efficient due to such cooperation.Editor/Yang Meiling
