The tide surges along the East China Sea, and Dagang is rejuvenated. The Meishan Port Area of Zhoushan Port in Ningbo has completed the annual lifting of 40 million TEUs, marking a new leap in logistics scale and efficiency for this super port, which has been the world's largest in cargo throughput for 16 consecutive years. General Secretary Xi Jinping once emphasized that Ningbo Zhoushan Port is a "hard core" force serving the national strategy, and the 20-year deep cultivation practice of the integration of the two ports is the core foundation for building a logistics network that radiates inland and connects the world. From resource integration to efficiency improvement, Ningbo Zhoushan Port is injecting solid logistics momentum into the new development pattern with the posture of a world-class strong port.

Integrated reform lays a solid hardware foundation for logistics development. Since the launch of the integration of the two ports in 2005, Ningbo Zhoushan Port has bid farewell to "fighting on its own" and formed a scientific layout and collaborative efficiency. Currently, it has more than 2.1 berths of over 100000 tons and 135 deep-water berths of over 50000 tons. The Meishan and Chuanshan "ten million container level" ports are operating efficiently, and the Shulang Lake Port has achieved the world's first "double 400000 ton" mining ship docking and unloading. Hardware upgrades have driven continuous breakthroughs in logistics scale, with container throughput jumping from 7 million containers in 2006 to 40 million containers in 2025, ranking first among the top five ports in the world in terms of growth rate over the past decade, providing key support for global supply chain stability.

Global air routes and inland intermodal transportation form a dense logistics network. To the outside world, Ningbo Zhoushan Port has built a global shipping channel with a total number of more than 300 routes, covering more than 600 ports in more than 200 countries and regions, including more than 130 "the Belt and Road" routes. This year, the China Europe Arctic Express launched will reduce the one-way timeliness to 18 days, significantly increasing the speed compared with traditional routes. Internally, with over 100 sea rail intermodal lines radiating to nearly 70 cities in 16 provinces across the country, Beilun Port Station has become the first million box level railway port station. Lines such as the "Chongqing Ningbo High quality Express" have shortened the time for inland goods to go abroad by 80%, and the "one-stop" service saves enterprises over 32 million yuan in costs annually.

Smart technology enables a qualitative leap in logistics efficiency. The "Four Ports Intelligent Transportation" model covers the entire logistics process, and the independently developed "n-TOS+iECS" dual core system efficiently schedules terminal operations. The Meishan Port Area remote control bridge crane achieves precise loading and unloading from 3 kilometers away, with operational efficiency comparable to or even surpassing traditional models. The maritime department's "Container Shipping Punctuality and Cost Reduction" plan has broken down data barriers, saving shipping companies 19000 hours of waiting time and 660 million yuan in costs this year. The sea rail intermodal transportation collaborative management system has also achieved dynamic "one click query" of goods, making the entire logistics process visualized and traceable.

Green transformation and long-term planning safeguard the high-quality development of logistics. Ningbo Zhoushan Port promotes the electrification of gantry cranes and full coverage of shore power, jointly building a green shipping corridor to reduce logistics carbon footprint with green energy. Based on the Implementation Plan for the World Class Strong Port Construction Project and the 2035 overall plan, the port will continue to optimize its functional layout. In the future, it will further strengthen the efficiency of "land sea sea" intermodal transportation, enhance the level of high-end shipping services, and contribute more "big port strength" to building an efficient, stable, and green modern logistics system while consolidating its position as a global logistics hub.Editor/Bian Wenjun
