On January 2, 2026, Xinjiang's new energy construction will add another heavyweight project! The bidding results for the EPC general contracting of Huaqiang New Energy Power Generation Co., Ltd. and Feng 499000 kW wind power project in Tacheng area have been officially announced. A consortium composed of six enterprises took the lead with comprehensive strength and won this new energy benchmark project with a total quotation of 2585.879 million yuan, injecting strong momentum into the construction of the clean energy base in northern Xinjiang.

As a key new energy project promoted in Xinjiang, the Hefeng Wind Power Project is located within the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, with a planned total installed capacity of 499MW, possessing dual attributes of wind power development and energy storage support. The core construction content of the project includes a 499000 kW centralized wind farm, a 50000 kW/100000 kWh energy storage facility, as well as a 220 kV booster station and supporting transmission lines. Among them, the energy storage facilities reserve expansion space, and in the later stage, the construction scale can be flexibly increased or independent energy storage can be leased according to the regional power grid demand, achieving integrated and coordinated operation of wind, solar and energy storage.

In terms of wind turbine layout, the project plans to install 54 wind turbine positions, including 4 spare positions, and intends to install 50 wind turbines with a single capacity of 10MW. To adapt to the consumption capacity of the regional power grid, one unit will operate in a limited power 9MW mode to ensure stable and controllable power output. After the completion of the project, it will significantly enhance the clean power supply capacity in northern Xinjiang, help the regional energy structure transform towards green and low-carbon, create employment opportunities for the local area, and drive the coordinated development of upstream and downstream industries.

The competition in this EPC general contracting bidding is extremely fierce, and the participating enterprises are all strong players in the domestic new energy construction field, with minimal differences in bidding prices. In the end, a consortium consisting of Zhejiang Huadong Engineering Construction Management Co., Ltd., China Electric Power Construction Group Huadong Survey and Design Institute Co., Ltd., China Communications Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd., China Railway Construction Group Mechanical and Electrical Installation Co., Ltd., Shandong Zhengchen Technology Co., Ltd., and Tianjin Lute New Energy Co., Ltd. won first place with a quotation of 2585.879 million yuan; Hubei Jianke International Engineering Co., Ltd. ranked second with a quotation of 2590295700 yuan; China Electric Power Construction Group Hebei Engineering Co., Ltd. ranked third with a quotation of 2589.1642 million yuan.

The announcement of the winning bid marks the official entry of the Hefeng Wind Power project into the substantive construction stage. Next, the winning consortium will quickly organize a technical team to enter the site and prepare, in accordance with the principle of "high standard construction and efficient promotion", to coordinate the design and construction of wind farms, energy storage systems, and booster stations, promote the early grid connection and operation of the project, and add new wings to the high-quality development of Xinjiang's new energy industry.Editor/Bian Wenjun
